Why my purchasing IPO share order didn't get fill before Dec.10?!

First, I am feeling very disappointment that until today (IPO day) I still didn't receive any update for why I am still didn't receive the email or follow up from Morgan Stanley for the IPO shares purchasing. Not sure if anyone here have the same issue. When looking the shares price is going up after 1:30pm, I feel like I am a forgotten host by airbnb.

I even submitted the Airbnb's Directed Share Program form right away when I receive it on Nov.16.2020. Then got the automatic response ( I believe it is), saying that later I will receive another email from Morgan Stanley about the shares number that I want to purchase. Until Dec.6, all my host friends already received that email except me.

I sent email to the Airbnb Market Manager Camila about this issue on Dec.6 , she replied me: "Thanks for reaching out. I have surfaced this to the team and will get back to you this week. Stay tuned! ".

On Dec.9, I sent another email for follow up since only 1 day left to IPO. And in the same day, my friends already got phone call from Morgan Stanley about their shares process.

Then Cami replied me : "I am working to speak with as many people as possible to get you the correct information. I do not have that much clarity since it's a quiet period but I know some hosts got emails saying the program was full, though I'm not sure if that's your case. I am waiting to hear back from different teams so I'll give you an update as soon as I have more information. "

I have to say, Cami did her best to help me out, as always. So thank you Cami.

From this email, I got an idea that maybe because the program was full, so I am one of the host that didn't get my order fill up.

If that's the case, I really curious how Airbnb select which host's order should be filled or refused? As I already fill up the Directed share program form right away in the same day when I received the email on Nov.16, even faster than my other host friends did ( yes I was the one told them about this program since some of them even didn't check email yet that day).

Anyway, just want to ask if any hosts here have the same issue like me.

And also would like to hear back from Airbnb or Morgan Stanley about why my order didn't get fill.

After all, congratulation everyone for the IPO!

I had a same problem. I don't know how the selection have been made. I received an email saying that the program was full even thought I filled the application the same day. I thought that they forgetthis program . I researched on my spam mail. nothing. so may be some get it. today Airbnb have his IPO o the market already and that's SUCK😔😔

I even didn't get any email to tell me that the program was full. That's suck!

And as a host with 40+ lists in Airbnb, replied the Directed Share Program right away, still didn't get my chance to fill up my share. I don't understand how they decided which host is qualify and which one not.

I also wanted in on the IPO but never got a mail. I am, in the same boat as most others. I cant believe I got left out of IPO. That sucks... I been a super host for 2 years and had no idea I could get in on this. I never got an E-Mail...

I am so sorry that you didn't get the email Katherine. I really don't know how the selection have been made by Airbnb.

@Rita693 @Charlotte833 @Katherine658  In the very first communication I read about the DSP for hosts, it stated that if a great number of hosts applied, applications would be approved in order of seniority until there were no more shares.

Ann were you aware of an 830 pm EST email

with the confirm allocation button at the bottom of the email

I got it but thought my online confirmation was adequate and had no warning ham that I would also need to “ push the bottom” prior to 1am dec 10

i completed every other step for Morgan stanley

i missed the button

and therefore missed the shares

just wondering if your emails looked the same as mine ??

julie

I am sure I didn't miss any button, because I also got the automate confirmation email from Airbnb that Morgan Stanley will contact me next about the shares amount I want to purchase. But there is never a next...

I am 100% sure I am a qualify host to apply for this Share Program, because my friend who even joined Airbnb less years than me also already got the shares.

Perhaps if enough people share how long they've been hosting and whether or not they were able to participate, that will give you an idea whether seniority made a difference. I've been hosting 10 years and was able to purchase the IPO.

@Jen5 I've been hosting 6 years and was able to participate in the IPO.

@Ann72 @Jen5 I've been hosting 5 years, with 40+ lists in Airbnb.:-(

January 2016 was my first rental, and I got in on the DSP.  As I understand it, the first "response of interest" e-mail November 16th was to understand where the "cut line" was going to be.  If more response than shares available, it would get selected by tenure of rental (regardless of if you are a Superhost or not).  After that, the email that was sent on 12/1 from MS was to be filled on a "first-come, first-serve" basis.

I think to fully understand how some people got it, and some didn't, you need to know BOTH the tenure of your rental PLUS how quickly you responded to the 12/1 email from MS.  I got my email at 2:30 PM on 12/1; got confirmation of my MS account creation at 4:30 PM same day.  It says right in that 12/1 e-mail:

The program is administered on a first come, first served basis. Once the program reaches capacity, the application process will close and no additional applications will be accepted.

So if you made the tenure cut on the 11/16 response of interest, then got the 12/1 email from MS, you needed to be quick on response to get included in the DSP.

ok. it might be the seniority then. they should have include this criteria at the beginning  so others like us should not feel left out.

if @Ann72 @Jen5 were able to buy the share that mean that the seniority was a major Criteria due to the high demand as well. Thank you for your answer that help me to lighten this question
