covid 19 host needs to cancel

covid 19 host needs to cancel

Hoping you can advise...

I accepted a booking about 2months a go for a weeks stay from the 11th July thinking the Government would have laid out clear plans for holidaymakers and tourists well in advance of this date and naively thinking that my Mother in law would no longer be shielding so we could stay with her for the summer as planned- no such luck.

So I need to cancel this booking and the one at the end of July because we have nowhere to go thanks to Covid.

I can’t see the usual host cancellation policy and I can’t see that the extenuating circumstances cancellation policy for covid applies to this booking as it was made after lockdown.

Can I just cancel the booking? what will happen to my 5* rating and will I have to pay monies in compensation?

Apologies for rambling- I am due to give birth in a couple weeks also and my brain is fried!

I would move asap whatever you decide to do & possibly cite a medical emergency-late pregnancy fried brain or a more scientific term of your choice. . You cannot accommodate this guest & the sooner they know the better for all concerned. Best of luck & wishes for an easy birth, mama.

@Anna2416 call Airbnb and ask for penalty-free cancellations. You may get lucky. If not, yes, you will be subject to cancellation penalties.
