Anyone know how I can get some help with this refund situation? Host cant, can Airbnb to extenuating circumstances?

Hey everyone. I was just terminated from a job I was going to work in Manhattan this summer and I am so devastated. I had this long stay 3 month place set up since January since there was like no way I would get terminated (until it out of no where happened) and I can only get a partial refund right now. I know its not the hosts fault either, can Airbnb give me a full refund? I was borrowing money from a relative for the deposit I paid in January because I had my offer letter as proof to show I was making some serious dough in NY. But now its all gone and im broke as a college student again. I tried talking on the phone with like 3-4 agents and they have just been telling me the same thing to ask the host but she won't. Can Airbnb still refund me this is an awful situation to be in. 😞

The "long term stay" cancellation policy will not refund the (max) 30 nights following the date the reservation has been cancelled (or shortened). Only the host can provide extra refund on a voluntary base but is in no way obliged to do so. Airbnb can not do anything.

Loosing a job is not considered as an "extenuaitng circumstance" in the Airbnb terms regarding "extenuating circumstances" .

When you signed up to a long term booking. The host blocked their calendar in good faith and you were offered a discounted rate .

You agreed to a long term cancellation  policy which forfeit the first month if you cancelled.

it would not be fair to the host for you to be refunded as the host did nothing wrong.

you can ask the host if they get any replacement booking can you have a proportional refund.
