Can a host change details of a listing after i have booked it?

Booked 1 month in advance. Only 2 days later could i cancel for a full refund. Upon arrival there is major construction going on, so much that the ground was shaking. Host knew i had a toddler and that i planned to work remote. After sending a complaint to see what solutions are available, the response was 'construction of property is included in the listing'. I know for sure it was not because i read the details twice.

Is there a way to check when the details of the listing were changed? I did not receive a message with the update either.

Call Airbnb.

They can check if this info was there in the time of booking.

There is a mildew smell as well. Do you think it is worth making that an issue? After a while it is not noticeable, but when leaving and coming back, it smells like a basement after it was cleaned. Some spots in the living room show black spots, bathroom window has quite a bit as well. My wife and son have asthma, but i am not sure how detrimental it is or if it is something that will get much worse after 2-3 weeks.

@Ruslan47  If this place is unacceptable to you, I suggest you look for another place and call Airbnb to explain about the construction and mildew and cancel the remainder of your stay.

I'm not sure what "solution" you anticipated was possible for the construction noise?

Just to clarify, what is this construction? Is it something the host is having done in the building or someone else? If it's someone else, I agree with @Sarah977 that there's nothing she can do about it now and that you should contact Airbnb and ask to be relocated and refunded the rest of the stay. You can't stay and then expect to be refunded, if that's what you were hoping for.

I do agree with you though that's it's dishonest for the host to claim that the information was there when you booked, if it was not, and she should at least have warned you about it as soon as she knew.

I have a noisy construction site near me. It's not too bad now but was very loud at first with the floors vibrating at times. The local council didn't bother notifying me of it, which they should have done, so the guests staying at the time were not prepared. Luckily, they were very understanding (they could see I was totally surprised about it) and neither complained nor rated me down for it.

I of course notified any upcoming guests. I haven't mentioned it in the description as the building was supposed to have been completed by October, but I do inform all new guests about it before they book just in case it is not finished before they come. No one seems bothered by it so far, but at least I gave them the heads up!
