Cancellation due to Corona

We had a one week trip planned through Spain, with friends from the US, Germany, UK and Columbia.

The starting point was to be Bilbao. With Basque county being on lockdown, this trip can no longer happen.

For this reason I need to cancel the upcoming trip bookings for March. Is it possible to due this, even though some of the cancellation policies are strict?

As @Mika8 says, do check your travel insurance policy, @Julia2679 . A lockdown may indeed qualify.

You did agree to all your trip hosts' cancellation policies when you booked. 

You can go to the Help Centre to see whether extenuating circumstances apply. I hate seeing hosts burned by it, since we are not travel insurers, but I expect you would find it on your own anyway.

Go the travel insurance route first, though, okay? You may even have it through your credit card. Worth a look.

Airbnb users- both hosts and guests post, but much smaller amounts of guests vs hosts.
