Covid extenuating circumstance cancellations continue

Shockingly, I received one today! The guest did book prior to March 14 and rescheduled during Covid. This person had my calendar blocked for a year and a half and was able to walk away unscathed. In Chicago all restrictions are lifted, we are fully open. I got the good old “extenuating circumstances due to Covid” message from Airbnb.

@Inna22  Oy vey. Clueless CS reps. You gonna bother to fight it?

@Sarah977 I was not planning on it. Do you think I should? The only reason would be for entertainment value for the community center

@Inna22  Well, it would seem to be totally outside of the Covid EC policy. Yeah, she booked before March 14, but that was supposed to be for bookings commencing by April 14, 2020. If she rescheduled, it doesn't seem like it should apply.

But who wants to waste their time dealing with CS?  I just hope you can rebook the dates. I'd be very tempted to write her a scathing message. Very professional, of course, but I know you're good at sardonic and could probably pull it off nicely 🙂

@Sarah977 I might actually call them... I have a five hour drive tomorrow. I do not get to leave a review regretfully

@Inna22 "I do not get to leave a review regretfully". No, but you can tell the guest what a jerk move this was.

I'd be interested to hear an update if you do talk to CS. This refund was given totally contrary to policy.
