Dog pee on rug - tell them or not?

So we’ve been happily taking Pooch guests for a few years now and never a problem, in fact it’s increased trip duration and opened up a whole new audience of staycationers.

Anyhow....guests were pulling out of the drive as I was heading over so I headed in and got the first load of laundry on.  Opened the door to check the lounge upstairs  and my dog went straight over to the rug and started sniffing. Turned it over and there’s a big wet pee stain.

Do I tell them or don’t I?

Tell them.  They need to know so they can pay any compensation due.  We have dogs and I’d ‘fess up for sure.  Bad dog parenting and naughty to try and cover it up.

@Amanda660

You might tell them out of concern that the dog might have a urinary tract infection or some other medical reason for incontinence…

They may be entirely unaware of the problem.

It’s also possible that it wasn’t the dog who let go in an inappropriate place.

Of course the guest was aware the host they turned the rug over to hide the stain @Brian2036  🙂

@Helen3 and @Dora486 no it was me who flipped it over to check underneath as my pooch was sniffing it.  It’s a very deep rug and you can’t tell if it’s wet from above - only from the hessian back.
