EC policy cancellation and reservation alteration dates

I have a guest that made a reservation pre-March 14th, for March dates. They requested an alteration on March 18th for dates in April. I obliged. Then they cancelled. Airbnb refunded them in full.
My question is: does it still qualify as a cancellation under the EC Policy considering the new reservation was made after March 14th?

@Alley44  good question ! I suppose the inital booking date will still rule unless there is a cancellation and a new booking made. The trick is also done to get around moderate or strict cancellation policies with last minute bookings.
