Example of con man/ Superhost in Kansas City
My post is mostly rhetorical.
On the news today: Out of 1,000 Airbnb’s in my city 70% are unregistered. This is one of them.
Host/contractor is already under investigation for taking money from local homeowners and not doing the work.
Another host told the city today that he was confident Airbnb would just look the other way when illegal Airbnb’s are found. I hope not.

Another in the building (city regulations allow only one but since he’s not registered he doesn’t care)

Well, City and news station confirmed that this building has not been approved for occupancy of any kind (long term or short term) and Airbnb has not pulled it off the platform.
Host also didn’t apply for a short term license (probably because he can’t legally rent yet)
This is why cities are thinking about banning the rest of us. No standards and no rules..
