Host in Hungary asking for passport number and address

Hello,

I am trying to book accommodation in Budapest, Hungary and the host has asked for the following; 

Name
Name at birth (if different)
Gender of guest
Nationality
Date and Place of birth
Postal or ZIP code
Address
Document type (passport, identity card, driving license)
Document ID

They have said it is for the National Tourism Data Supply Center.

Does this sound legitimate? I have never been asked for these details from an Airbnb host before

Many countries in Europe require photo ID from those staying at hotels and accommodation @Luisa954 

Hungary is one of them.
