Speaking languages connects us with others and allows us to express ideas. Speaking more than one language is more than a skill; it becomes a doorway into cultures, perspectives, and opportunities. Whether learned for travel, work, curiosity, or personal growth, languages expand our understanding of people and places. 

Knowing another language is definitely helpful when hosting. How many languages can you speak?

@Elisa I lived in the philipines 2 Years to build a small hospital. Most Dutch de speak 2 or more langauges.

I studied tourisme at the Uni in Amsterdam, later I went to London to get my Transport and Lgistics degree. In between I was just looking for adventure. Worked on a big wooden sailing ship sailing the waters among Scandinavia and England, later sailing in the Carebean. Through crowd fouding I found the money to build a small hospital in Marindueqe, an island in the Philipines. So I spend some time there. The last 15 years I am a CEO of a company in Germany giving Entrepeneurs Legal and Tax advice. So yes, an adventures live. Now settled, 3 kids and a lovely husband.

@Elisa Teaching  naval students how to find ,our way on see without satelite communication. So only by compas and sun and stars

I speak English and am 2133 days in a row as of now on Spanish in Duolingo but still not fluent, LOL
