I’m looking for a nice place to have a small get together

I’m a first time user for Air BNB and I was looking to see who would be willing to let me rent their place for 2 days as I would like to place a small get together of 8 probably less people for my birthday (I’m from Saint Louis Missouri btw)I’m not the type of person who likes huge parties less is more to me. I wanna book around the 15-16th Of August and would love for it to be affordable since I have other expenses that involves the circumstances. And before some of you comment and I do mean some of you who like to copy and paste the same thing on every one who mentions the word “Party” no I don’t wanna book a venue(seeing as my event is way too small for that),or a restaurant or a bar and no I don’t have any other friends that has a nice spacious place I can throw my get together at I wouldn’t be here if I did so save your energy if anyone can find something that can allow that with air bnb prices that would be Greatly appreciated 😊

@Talizha0,

Are you posting your inquiry here on the Community, because your Airbnb search didn't return any listings that fit your criteria?  Or, did you already submit inquiries via Airbnb, and you didn't find a host who would let you book?

Don't just believe what I say, check the Airbnb Help Center

I haven’t tried reaching out to a host per se but I have put In inquiries and there was always a “but there’s also” that cancels everything out like they do let want locals and the filter bar doesn’t make it any better so I think getting tips form actual people I feel would help more

@Talizha0  I'm sorry but this is a global forum - people come here for help with general questions, but nobody is here looking for clients to rent to. So the odds that someone in your destination who just happens to have a suitable space available on your dates will ever read this message are close to zero.

Your best bet is still going to be a normal search. There are plenty of listings large enough to accommodate a group of 8 - and even if some portion of your group doesn't need to stay overnight, it's perfectly reasonable to pay for them (or let them contribute to the budget) to cover the heavier use of the property that their presence involves. If a normal search doesn't yield anything suitable for your budget, the problem is not the attitudes of strangers in message boards but rather that your budget just doesn't quite fit what you're trying to do.

That's no reason to be discouraged, though! If Airbnb search isn't working out, try expanding it to campgrounds and youth hostels, think about outdoor spaces with shelter if it rains. I can't think of all that much that's uniquely exhilarating about renting a large house in the suburbs, if all I'm really after is a fun weekend with my 7 closest friends.

@Talizha0 I would recommend that you search Saint Louis Missouri and find a property that can accommodate 8 and fits your budget. Send the host a message similar to what you have posted here. Wait for the host to respond and then start a conversation. If the host thinks that you are also a good fit for their property then go for it.

@Talizha0  One of the problems you are going to face is that you have a new profile with no reviews and haven't even written up anything about yourself on your profile. So hosts who have places which do accommodate 8 people may still not want to rent to you for a gathering, as you have no proven track record, only your word that it will be a small, controlled affair. If you were just looking for a place for yourself purely for accommodation, there's plenty of hosts who'll take a chance on a new user with no reviews- I've done so myself several times.

I'll suggest what I've suggested to others asking for what you are- write up a nice little blurb about yourself for your profile, so you don't just give the impression of an anonymous stranger, upload a friendly face photo, as well as verified ID and hosts may be more willing to consider a booking.

And I second Andrews suggestion-  think outside the box- renting a few cabins at a campground or something like that could end up being a lot of fun and make for a memorable birthday party.
