@Marie8425 here!
I often share that my typical market on @Airbnb includes single men traveling for short-term work assignments. Since I offer just one bedroom, I remain flexible — especially when a guest's work schedule changes unexpectedly.
Last month, I hosted a very kind gentleman who was transferred to Alaska two days earlier than planned. I assured him it was no problem at all, refunded the unused nights, and wished him well. In return, he left me a wonderful review, which meant a lot to me.
Many of my @Airbnb guests are traveling professionals who move from city to city. This guest came well-prepared — he brought his own grill, a mini freezer, and even had meat delivered to my home from @ButcherBox.
Then came a surprise: a few weeks after he left, I received a notification from @ButcherBox that another delivery was on its way — even though the guest was long gone. When I contacted @ButcherBox, they told me to go ahead and keep it at no charge.
I truly believe this was his thoughtful way of saying thank you — quietly and kindly.
Hosting with @Airbnb has taught me that the most memorable parts of the experience are not always the stays themselves, but the unexpected gestures and human connections that stay with us long after.
