With the holidays fast approaching, what better time to catch up on some reading? While browsing a few books and trying to decide which ones to get, I realised we haven’t done a game for quite some time on the CC.
Fear not though, the time has come, and this time is all about literature (looking at you @Ann72). You know the old saying about not judging a book by its cover, but what about emojis?
Can you identify the novels below by their emoji representation?
One thing to keep in mind: in many countries worldwide, book titles get translated, but I made the quiz according to the original US or UK titles. And as always, let's have one guess each time so more people can play.
Have fun! 😉

19 has us stumped, @Nick! #20 is by Stevenson, I believe. But with 19 all I could come up with was a poem, Ode on a Grecian Urn. Will keep thinking!
Your guess for 20 is correct 🙂 @Ann72
If no one else finds these later today (by tomorrow for me), I'll ask you to provide the titles so I can take them out; you have figured them out after all.
19 is a bit tricky; Greece (or Greeks) is a detail of the story and kind of describes part of the title... in a way (and no, it doesn't take place there) - I'VE SAID TOO MUCH!
@Nick Can I take a wild guess at #19 ? Is it a murder mystery ? (sort of). Since nobody is guessing at that one, would it perhaps be "The Secret History" by Donna Tartt ? That was 1990's - ish.
YES @Michelle53 , YES! Wow I had my bets on @Ann72 (and her daughter) for that one, well done!
I think it was the first half of the 90s when it was published, '93 or '94? I remember reading it a few years later while in uni circa '96-'97 and loved it - such a modern take on Crime & Punishment. I was also a lot into Bret Easton Ellis at the time and couldn't keep my hands of Tartt's writing - loved that book.
Oh @Nick you are back again with one more game! It is great! 🙂
# 18 - Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
That's is correct @J-Renato0!
Hey, is 18 your lucky number? I just realised you answered 18 and asked for the 18th for Month of Celebration 🙂
good thing I assigned the 13th of December for your Month of Celebration contribution then @J-Renato0 😃
While i was thinking of "Gambling with the Crown" by Lynn Raye Harris
(Just joking, as It is an "airport novel", but fits well with the emojis)
