More then one host advertising same property

I'm very confused, I'm looking to book a villa and I've come across the same Villa twice, with different prices for the same dates, and it has different people advertising it.

I messaged Airbnb, and they have told me that  "There are some properties that can be managed with two or more different hosts at the same time" That the listing is legal.

So, I get a message from one of the hosts who was already offering the cheeper price, with another deal which would be ever better, but I would have to message her direct on her email to avoid Airbnb fees.

I've reported this to Airbnb and waiting to see what they say now.

Surly this is not right?  How could I book through one host, while another host is advertising on another profile. It does not say they are co hosting either?

@Sean-and-Caroline0   Some hosts place their listing with Management Agencies on Airbnb to deal with on their behalf and they can also use other platforms such as booking.com etc amongst many others as well as advertising directly themselves.   If this host is also advertising on the Airbnb platform separate to the management agency and encouraging you to book ‘off Airbnb’ to save fees then this is generally frowned upon and not permitted.

However, I would urge caution when making your decision with regards to booking.  If you book on the Airbnb Platform you will have a lot more protection via their Aircover for Guests which you will not benefit from if you book direct.   Any  issues that potentially  arise during your stay when booking ‘off Airbnb’ may not be resolved satisfactorily and you will have no redress.

I would strongly recommend that you look at the terms and conditions of the various options before making a decision and above all make sure you take out the appropriate travel insurance as well
