Hello everyone,
A warm welcome to the Community Center.
This discussion is for introducing yourself to your fellow Airbnb Community members, as well as welcoming and saying hello to newcomers in return. Thanks to all of you who have already introduced yourself and contributed in our previous thread, here.
I'm Lizzie and I am the Community Manager here, along with my teammate @Quincy. I have been managing the Airbnb Community Center since it officially opened in November 2015. It is fantastic to speak with amazing community members here.
To kickstart this topic, I would like to share a few things about myself:
How about you? Any interesting facts or hobbies?
I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
Lizzie

Hi Everyone
My name is Sarah and I live in rural Herefordshire. I have just started with Airbnb. I love the countryside to walk in and gardening - trying to make my space as environmentally friendly as possible!
As I am new to Airbnb I am always looking out for tips and suggestions so that I can be an excellent host and give my guests a lovely relaxed and enjoyable stay.
Welcome to the Community Center @Sarah2594, lovely to meet you here. I do also enjoy visiting the countryside from time to time as I do like camping (it makes you very flexible to move around).
Just so you know, you're more than free to ask any questions you might have!
p.s. @Lizzie is also from the Herefordshire!
Hello everyone! I’m Carla and my husband Ricardo. We are new and we are looking forward to become superhost. As new host we have some concerns and doubts but when the things happen we learn a lot.
Howdy! Is this forum available on the airbnb app? Or another app? Thanks everyone!
Hello Everyone, it is heart warming to join this forum amongst other hosts who are helping communities to experience a cultural immersion. it is indeed a wonderful experience hosting people round the globe. we should also help each other with the best practices and also share experience that has changed their lives as well
Hi All,
I am Katy and my husband and I just started our airbnb cottage in August, it has gone really well so far! We have really enjoyed making a little home from home in Freuchie, Fife, Scotland, and it is so nice getting comments from our guests who are really enjoying it. I have just given up my art teaching job, and am teaching adult art classes and am hoping to have more time to spend on my own art, although have been too busy to do much so far. I have learned a lot from reading other hosts' posts and tips and plan to try doing art lesson experiences soon. 🙂
oops husbands name is Geoff! And we hope to become superhosts this week!
Hello everyone, I am Joycelyn from Anguilla in the Caribbean. I am about to list a room on Airbnb. I absolutely love the concept of home sharing. I plan to be up and running withing the next few weeks. Reading the stories of other hosts keeps me going.
Hi All
I am hosting a Sailing Experience for Airbnb is Sooke, British Columbia, on the west coast of Vancouver Island Canada. I love sailing and so far have been able to make a go of it after an early retirement. I ma a certified Sail Canada Instructor and teach Basic Sailing, VHF Radio and am the president of the local Sailing Association.
In my spare time I volunteer at the Salmon Hatchery in Sooke where we raise 500,000 salmon for release each year. I also Scuba Dive and used to train horses for riding, pulling a sleigh and packing in the rocky mountains.
Check us out if you come this way. We often see whales while out there sailing.
Hello!
My name is Sheri, I'm from Chestermere, AB (just outside of Calgary) and have been doing Airbnb for 2 years now. I rent out a couple bedrooms in my house that I share with my two beautiful Dalmatians, Tucker and Miya, who seem to be, among other things, the highlight of everyone's stay since they are very friendly and sociable!
I really enjoy hosting and meeting people from all over the world. I take pride in everything I do and try to make the guests experience the best.
It's great to meet so many other hosts and read some great tips on how to improve your place.
Hello everyone!
I'm happy to introduce myself. I'm Karin from Toronto. First time I arrived in Guatemala, I had my backpack and an itinerary. Little did I know that 6 months later I would have moved to a tiny rural Mayan village on the shores of Lake Atitlan to work there as a school teacher for three years. I bought a house when I lived there which is the property I currently host. Check it out: http://www.airbnb.com/h/casakarin
It's been quite a process to set up hosting from a different country and I would love to share and hear about other people's tips.... Living in one country and hosting a property in another one.
Hello @Karin392, nice to meet you!

Hi Everyone,
I'm a full time artist and native Arizonan. I love to garden, hike and live with my husband, cats, dog and chickens with the occasional visit from a loose pot bellied pig in the neighborhood! I travel quite often to art shows through out the southwestern USA. I recently bought a house in Cave Creek Arizona where I plan to live part of the year. I will be turning one of the studio spaces into a fully equipped vacation home next spring so I'm starting to gather information. I'm very happy to have found this forum as it already helped me make an important decision! I look forward to providing guests with a tranquil, fun and unique experience in the beautiful Sonoran desert artist enclave of Cave Creek!
I'm new to hosting so I will be seeking advice from here as well as other artist friends that already have their homes listed.
Maybe one of these days, we will all gather together to create an experience vacation.
