New to the Community Center? Introduce yourself here ‌👇

Hello everyone! 😊

Welcome to the Community Center! 👋  I'm @Bhumika , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Elisa @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.

Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:

@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 6+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.

@Bhumika 🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.

@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.

@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community.  I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘‍ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌

@Elisa : I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 and as a lover of unique experiences—from exploring the streets of Rome🇮🇹 , Paris 🇫🇷, and Toronto 🇨🇦 to appreciating timeless art and cuisine—I'm here to blend the old with the new.

@Alex : I'm originally from Spain 🇪🇸, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto🇨🇦 this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey ✈️. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports ️ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. 🥘

Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Warm regards,

Bhumika

Hi, I am Britt. I am living in the UK but have family and a family home in South Africa which we are Air B&Bing. It is tricky watching over it when not living in the same country. I would appreciate and tips from people in similar situations and look forward to getting to know everyone.

Hi I am Eva from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. Although, I am Slovakian, I have spent majority of my life in the UK and I feel more English than Slovakian. I love travelling, and I share my time now between our house in Eastbourne, our house in Slovak Paradise National Park and rest of the world. I have started my own business in medical devices, which gives me so much more flexibility after couple of decades of being a Hospitality General Manager. I love AirBnB concept and I use it All the time, so when I have relocated to Eastbourne, I didn’t hesitate to factor AirBnB into my potential income stream. The house is located in the marina with beautiful views over the boats, especially at sundown. It is very quiet, sheltered from the sea breeze ( gales sometimes 😂) and the garden is a sun trap. I get an amazing suntan even in England! I had a really good experience with my guests so far and all have been really respectful and took care of the house.
I am still trying to work out the best pricing system, but this platform is great to share tips and experiences.
I am really pleased to be part of this community 🥰

Hi Bhumika,

Thank you for your warm welcome.

I live in Brisbane, Australia. But, my roots are South American.  I was born in Venezuela but I moved to Australia 17 years ago. I love dancing 💃 like @Paula. And also, like the beach. It resets me.

My home is like my temple of peace and relaxation and I would love to share it with someone that wants to relax and get refreshed. At the end, holidays is all about that. I also, live 20 mins drive to the city and 8 mins walking to the biggest shopping centre in the north of the city. But, my place is so well located that you cannot believe there is a busy shopping centre just 4 blocks away.

Kind Regards,

Monica

Hola @Monica2655, que bueno tener en nuestra comunidad 😊

I haven't had the chance to visit Venezuela or Australia. When is the best time of the year to visit either of these two countries? Have you already welcomed your first guests? How has your experience been?

Keep us posted.

Hola @Paula, gracias por la bienvenida.

The best time to visit Venezuela is anytime 😊.  However, if you are not used to high temperatures I recommend you to visit from December to April.

I live in the Sunshine capital of Australia so again if you are not used to the heat March and April or September are good months.

My first guest is coming this Monday and I am very excited to welcome her. She is coming from another city in Australia and she is Korean originally. I have a set of towels and bought new bed sheets and blankets.

Hi, my names Marie and I’m a host here in Morecambe, England. I used to be an extrem sports enthusiast and a world wide traveller but have had to reign stuff in as my congenital disabilities get worse as I get older. I converted my house into three separate annexes; I live in one and rent the other two out. I love animals a lot. I enjoy walking and doing puzzles. Can’t wait to be part of this community 💕
