New to the Community Center? Introduce yourself here โ๐
Hello everyone! ๐
Welcome to the Community Center! ๐ I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling๐ฒ, playing footballโฝ, and travelling๐ . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : ๐ I was born in Gujarat, India ๐ฎ๐ณ , and shifted to Toronto, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ last year! ๐ท I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. ๐ When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia ๐จ๐ด and currently living in British Columbia, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance ๐) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries ๐ and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking ๐ฒ and hiking ๐.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist ๐ฟ and like to minimise my impact on the planet ๐ as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming ๐ yoga on the beach ๐งโ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! ๐
@Elisa : I was born in Italy ๐ฎ๐น and as a lover of unique experiencesโfrom exploring the streets of Rome๐ฎ๐น , Paris ๐ซ๐ท, and Toronto ๐จ๐ฆ to appreciating timeless art and cuisineโI'm here to blend the old with the new.
@Alex : I'm originally from Spain ๐ช๐ธ, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto๐จ๐ฆ this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey โ๏ธ. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports โฝ๏ธ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. ๐ฅ
@Emilie : I was born in France ๐ซ๐ท, raised in French Polynesia ๐บ and Morocco ๐ฒ๐ฆ, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. ๐ฒ
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards๐ป,
Elisa

Hi @Bin4025 ๐,
Thank you for letting me know!
I'm sorry to hear that you're not getting enough bookings. If youโd like to understand whether this is due to a slow season, I recommend connecting with hosts from your area and asking them about it ๐ Local Host Clubs.
I also suggest requesting a listing critique, it might be that you need to optimize your listing, and other hosts can provide valuable advice ๐ How to ask for listing critique on the Community Center.
Warm regards ๐ป,

My name is Karen and we have to cabins in Gustavus, Alaska at the entrance of Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve. We call ourselves Glacier Bay Getaway Cabins, The Spruce Tip and The Yarrow's Nest.
We love anything having to do with outdoor adventures and travel. We are relatively new to the vacation rental business and hope to learn from this community how we can stand out as the best place to stay. Vacationers that travel to Alaska often travel to many communities, I hope to connect with other host in Alaska.
We also hope to tap into the local market to host workers traveling through our remote community.

Hi, Iโm Helen from Augusta Western Australia. Started hosting about 6 months ago and really enjoying the experience. Iโve joined the community page as Iโm interested to find out if anyone has had experience with how well the Ap works in Timor Leste? I have to go there for work and would like to continue to be the main host contact during my absence.
Thanks in anticipation if anyone has any tips.

Hi @Alex
Thanks for the warm welcome! After over 10 years of hosting, Iโd say the biggest lesson Iโve learned is the importance of communication. Clear, prompt, and empathetic communication with guests can resolve most issues before they become problems.

Thanks for your kind words! ๐ Iโve definitely had guests express their appreciation for the effort I put into communication. Sometimes theyโll leave a note or mention in their review how much they appreciated the quick responses or how I made sure they had everything they needed. Itโs always a great feeling to know that your efforts are making a positive impact on their experience

Hi! My name is Erik and I am new to Airbnb hosting. I recently purchased a chalet on a small lake at Innsbrook in Missouri. My wife and I have been working for the past 2 months furnishing and preparing the home for guests. We live in St. Louis so we are only about 45 minutes away. We are learning as we go so Iโll be asking for feedback on our listing once itโs ready. Thanks!
