New to the Community Center? Introduce yourself here โ€Œ๐Ÿ‘‡

Hello everyone! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Welcome to the Community Center! ๐Ÿ‘‹  I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.

Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:

@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling๐Ÿšฒ, playing footballโšฝ, and travelling๐ŸŒ . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.

@Bhumika  ๐ŸŒ I was born in Gujarat, India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ , and shifted to Toronto, Canada ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ last year! ๐Ÿ“ท I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. ๐ŸŒ† When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.

@Paula : I am from Colombia ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ด and currently living in British Columbia, Canada ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance ๐Ÿ’ƒ) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries ๐ŸŒŽ and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking ๐Ÿšฒ and hiking ๐Ÿ”.

@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist ๐ŸŒฟ and like to minimise my impact on the planet ๐ŸŒŽ as well as volunteering in my local community.  I love sea swimming ๐ŸŒŠ yoga on the beach ๐Ÿง˜โ€ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! ๐Ÿ™Œ

@Elisa : I was born in Italy ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น and as a lover of unique experiencesโ€”from exploring the streets of Rome๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น , Paris ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท, and Toronto ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ to appreciating timeless art and cuisineโ€”I'm here to blend the old with the new.

@Alex : I'm originally from Spain ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey โœˆ๏ธ. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports โšฝ๏ธ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. ๐Ÿฅ˜

@Emilie : I was born in France ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท, raised in French Polynesia ๐ŸŒบ and Morocco ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฆ, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. ๐Ÿฒ

Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Warm regards๐ŸŒป,

Elisa

Hello, @Elisa,

I'm Photini, and I live in Cyprus, a beautiful island in the eastern corner of the Mediterranean Sea. Iโ€™ve been an Airbnb host since 2016, but this is my first time joining the Community Centre. I suppose I was just too busy until now!

Over the past nine years, Iโ€™ve had the pleasure of hosting guests from most parts of the world. Iโ€™ve learned a lot from these experiences and believe I have much to share with fellow hosts and even more to learn from them.

My accommodations are located in a small village in the northwestern part of Cyprus, two cosy cottages nestled in the heart of the village, right on the edge of the stunning Akamas National Park. Guests often visit the area to enjoy hiking through the parkโ€™s natural beauty and to relax on the nearby beaches, all just a short distance away.

Hello @Photini4

Welcome to the Community! ๐Ÿ˜„

From what I can see, you have a lot of experience in hosting! That means we are going to learn a lot from you. ๐Ÿ’ญ

What's one of the most important things you would say you have learned over the years hosting different types of guests? ๐Ÿก

Hello, @Alex ,

Thank you, Alex, for your comment. Over the years, Iโ€™ve gained valuable experience, and I'm always happy to share it to help newcomers succeed. Iโ€™ve hosted all kinds of guests, and one thing I've learned is that people are essentially the same everywhere. The main differences come from the cultural and family values they bring with them. Guests who are empathetic tend to be polite, respect the rules, and take care of the space entrusted to them. Others, unfortunately, sometimes take advantage of the fact that the property isnโ€™t theirs and behave in ways they wouldnโ€™t in their own homes. As owners, the best we can do is treat every guest with respect, make them feel welcome, and be available to support them whenever they need assistance, especially if they come from abroad and are not familiar with the local environment.

Hello @Emi7397! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Welcome to the Airbnb Community Center. ๐Ÿค—

I can see you have some experience in the world of hosting due to real state. Are you planning to use your knowledge in your new project? I'm sure you are really excited to start. ๐Ÿ˜

Yes @Alex , indeed, we used our knowledge  to buy this property, selecting what we think that the people need in   Nicaragua and based in our own experience when we travel. We saw a great opportunity!
