New to the Community Center? Introduce yourself here ‌👇

Hello everyone! 😊

Welcome to the Community Center! 👋  I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.

Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:

@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.

@Bhumika  🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.

@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.

@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community.  I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘‍ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌

@Elisa : I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 and as a lover of unique experiences—from exploring the streets of Rome🇮🇹 , Paris 🇫🇷, and Toronto 🇨🇦 to appreciating timeless art and cuisine—I'm here to blend the old with the new.

@Alex : I'm originally from Spain 🇪🇸, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto🇨🇦 this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey ✈️. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports ️ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. 🥘

@Emilie : I was born in France 🇫🇷, raised in French Polynesia 🌺 and Morocco 🇲🇦, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. 🍲

Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Warm regards🌻,

Elisa

Hi @Ron12012 😊,

It’s a pleasure to meet you! Your lifestyle sounds absolutely inspiring—such a beautiful mix of travel, culture, and meaningful experiences. With homes in California, Mexico, and Tuscany, I can only imagine the incredible memories and meals you’ve created along the way!

Your passion for cooking and exploring local markets really stood out to me—there’s something so special about connecting to a place through its food. I’d love to hear what your favorite dish is to prepare, especially when you’re in Tuscany or San Miguel de Allende!

Also, managing multiple properties across the globe is impressive. I’m sure many of us in the community would love to learn from how you make it all work so smoothly.

Looking forward to learning from your journey and sharing more together in this community!

Hello.
We are a professional tourism agency that has been a superhost for eight years. We have dozens of homes on Airbnb. If you examine our reviews, all our houses have 4,96 points and above. Thousands of guests have happily stayed in our homes for eight years and they have also mentioned their pleasant stay in our reviews. We operate in the city of Izmir in Turkey. All our guests stay safely in our houses in accordance with the tourism residence law, which was legalized in our country in 2024, without being subjected to any legal penalties.
In April, a reservation request was received for one of our villas. Due to a hot water malfunction in our house, we could not accept the reservation request and communicated the situation to the guests. The guests thought that we did not accept them because we were a male group and complained to Airbnb. Despite having photos of the malfunction and a repair invoice, Airbnb deemed the guests right and closed our profile.
If you examine our reviews and our ongoing bookings, you can easily see that many men's groups have stayed in our houses. Our family, who has been doing this job wholeheartedly and lovingly for years, has really fallen into a very difficult situation. We are a family that has earned the badge of super host for years. We have never discriminated against religion, language, nationality or gender. You can easily see this in our comments. On May 1, 2025, suddenly our profile was closed without warning. We really cannot understand why we are being punished. Although we have sent many e-mails and messages on the subject, we are only told that they are being examined and will get back to you. We own the majority of the most beautiful houses within Airbnb, which have tourism housing certificates in Izmir, and now they have all been removed from the system with a complaint. This victimizes not only us but also many Airbnb users who want to visit Izmir and its surroundings. Many guests who used to stay in our house are asking why our profile does not appear.
If we have a mistake, we are ready to do anything about it, but being punished in such a severe way has really upset us, our employees, our hosts and our guests who want to stay in our homes. It is not fair that an exemplary Airbnb profile in Turkey was shut down so easily and without objection. This situation also concerns other hosts who want to join the Airbnb community. Closing the account of a top-rated host who has been doing this professionally for more than eight years with just one complaint deeply undermines faith in Airbnb. Please help us. We are in a really difficult situation.
Mythic Travels

Hi @Mythic-Travels0,

I’m truly sorry to hear about the situation you're facing. Eight years of hosting with excellent reviews and Superhost status speaks volumes about your professionalism and dedication to hospitality. It’s clear that you’ve put your heart into creating safe, welcoming experiences for thousands of guests.

It’s very disheartening to hear that your account was suspended due to a misunderstanding, especially when you had clear communication, documentation, and a proven track record of fair treatment toward all types of guests. Situations like this can feel especially frustrating when there seems to be no clear channel for resolution.

I hope Airbnb takes a deeper look at your case and considers your long-standing history, your evidence, and the impact this has not only on your business but also on the guests who trust and depend on your services in Izmir.

You’re not alone—many hosts in the community stand with you and understand how important fairness and open communication are for all of us. I sincerely hope this gets resolved soon in a just and reasonable way.

Wishing strength to you, your family, and your team during this difficult time. 🙏

@Matthew2411 I have a 6 months old goldendoodle myself - they are the friendliest dogs, yours will make the best co-host! I'd love to know his name and see his little face if you have a chance to share a photo. 🤗

Have you welcomed your first guests yet?

Hi @Emilie 😊,

A 6-month-old Goldendoodle—how adorable! They really are the friendliest and most loving companions. I'm sure your little one brings so much joy (and probably a bit of mischief too 😄). It’s so sweet to think of them as a co-host—I bet guests love the extra warmth they bring!

Can’t wait to hear more about your hosting experience with a furry teammate by your side. And yes, please do share a photo—we’d all love to see that cute face!

Hello Everyone. My name is Nelao. I am from Windhoek, Namibia. I joined Airbnb as a host. I am currently managing a property in Mexico. I would really love to hear from you all on how I can navigate the Airbnb platform, avoid being locked out of my account because that happened just when I listed my property in March and I would also welcome tips on how make it to become a super host.

thank you all.
