New to the Community Center? Introduce yourself here ‌👇

Hello everyone! 😊

Welcome to the Community Center! 👋  I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.

Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:

@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.

@Bhumika  🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.

@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.

@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community.  I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘‍ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌

@Elisa : I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 and as a lover of unique experiences—from exploring the streets of Rome🇮🇹 , Paris 🇫🇷, and Toronto 🇨🇦 to appreciating timeless art and cuisine—I'm here to blend the old with the new.

@Alex : I'm originally from Spain 🇪🇸, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto🇨🇦 this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey ✈️. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports ️ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. 🥘

@Emilie : I was born in France 🇫🇷, raised in French Polynesia 🌺 and Morocco 🇲🇦, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. 🍲

Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Warm regards🌻,

Elisa

Hello. My name is Jonny, and I am living at the countryside in the northwestern part of Norway. Running a sheepfarm, and resently bought an authentic farm in my neighbourhood. Our local community have been hosting deerehunters for twentyfive years, and lately I joined the Airbnb, and now the old house on this farm have been visited by guests from all over the world. The place is located about 100m above the fjord, and facing south for a nice mountain view, and to west for the sunset and the open fjord.

The farmhouse and the barn has been abandoned for some years, and is in a state of "work in progress". Still we invite guests for a stay, and to explore this part of my country.

Nice to "meet" you all. 🙂

Rgrds Jonny

Hi @Jonny119 😊

Welcome to the community center, and thank you for sharing this here!

Your farm sounds amazing 😍.

Are you managing everything by yourself, or is someone helping you?

Hi.

I have a great family and helpfull neighbors, to lean on when I need to. Without these people, it would be hard to handle everything by my self. And function in what I believe is the best job in the world 🙂

Hi @Jonny119 😊,

That’s so heartwarming to hear! Having a supportive family and helpful neighbors makes such a big difference—especially when you're managing something as special and hands-on as a farm and guest property. It sounds like you've built a great community around you, and it's beautiful that you recognize their role in your journey.

Also, I love how you described hosting as "the best job in the world"—so true! Being able to welcome people from around the world and share your part of the world with them is truly rewarding.

Wishing you continued joy and success with both the farm and your hosting adventure!

Hi @Jonny119 😊,

It’s so nice to meet you, and thank you for sharing your story! Your countryside farmhouse in northwestern Norway sounds absolutely magical—with the fjord views, the mountains, and those peaceful sunsets, I’m sure your guests are having unforgettable stays.

It’s also inspiring to hear how you’ve brought new life into an old farm and opened it up to the world through Airbnb. That combination of nature, authenticity, and local tradition makes your listing truly special—especially with the rich history of deer hunters visiting the area.

Wishing you all the best as you continue this beautiful journey of hosting and restoring the property. Looking forward to seeing more of your updates and learning from your experience!

Hi Elisa,

I am anxiously waiting to host 1'st client. I have ticked all the boxes for hosting . put good quality pictures, details on the listing etc. eagerly awaiting

Hi @Nirmala-Fernandes0 😊,

Welcome to the hosting community, and congratulations on starting your journey in beautiful Goa! It's completely normal to feel a bit anxious while waiting for your first booking—but you’re definitely on the right track by setting up your listing with good photos and detailed information.

Sometimes it takes a little time for the first guest to come through, especially in a competitive location. Just stay consistent, keep your calendar open, and maybe try adjusting your pricing slightly to attract initial interest. You can also double-check that your amenities and highlights are all selected properly to show up in relevant searches.

Wishing you the best of luck—and don’t worry, your first guest will come soon! You're going to enjoy hosting a lot. 😊

Hi, my name is Gary and I am so much excited for this opportunity to host in Airbnb platform. Hopefully more clients & guests to serve in the future! 😊🙏
