Hello everyone! 😊
Welcome to the Community Center! 👋 I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football⚽, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : 🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘 and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌
@Elisa : I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 and as a lover of unique experiences—from exploring the streets of Rome🇮🇹 , Paris 🇫🇷, and Toronto 🇨🇦 to appreciating timeless art and cuisine—I'm here to blend the old with the new.
@Alex : I'm originally from Spain 🇪🇸, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto🇨🇦 this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey ✈️. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports ⚽️ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. 🥘
@Emilie : I was born in France 🇫🇷, raised in French Polynesia 🌺 and Morocco 🇲🇦, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. 🍲
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards🌻,
Elisa

I was a super host in the Orlando area and now I live in Sarasota.
i am looking for cohosting opportunities in the area as i lived here for the past 5 years and i know the area very well.
Hi @Raouf26 😊,

Hi @Raouf26 😊,
It’s great to meet you! Your background in hospitality and language skills must bring such a rich and welcoming touch to your hosting style. Being a former Superhost in Orlando says a lot about your commitment to guest experience—and Sarasota is lucky to have you!
Your deep local knowledge and passion for hosting will definitely be valuable to others here. Looking forward to learning from your insights and seeing how your journey continues to grow in Sarasota!
Hi my name is Barb and I started hosting in November of 2024. We decided to turn the space above our 3 car garage into a studio apartment and Airbnb it. We live on a small horse farm in Knoxville, TN. I am an empty nester and my husband is just a few years from retiring. This is all new to me so I am learning as I go. A neighbor up the road who has an Airbnb has been so helpful when I’ve had “things” happen I was not sure how to handle and I’ve also reached out to Airbnb a few times to help as well. So far so good.
Welcome to the Community Center @Barb4181! It's great to hear about your journey as a host and how you've turned your garage space into a cozy studio apartment! 😊 Having a supportive neighbor like you mentioned is so nice! What's been your favorite part of hosting so far?
My favorite part so far is meeting all the kind people and sharing our little slice of heaven with them. I also so appreciate when they take time to let me know what they love about their stay and several guests have given me great ideas about adding certain items I didn’t think about in the beginning!
That sounds like such a rewarding experience @Barb4181! It's wonderful that you're not only getting to meet amazing people but also finding new ways to enhance your guests' stays through their feedback 😊 Curious to hear what other ideas your guests have shared with you! 👀
Little things like having a mat at the bottom of the stairs as you walk into the apartment. Also one suggested I put a tissue box in the apartment. Another guest suggested more lighting coming up the stairs to the apartment because at night it was a bit hard to see coming up the long stairs leading to the door.
Hi @Barb4181 😊,
Those are such thoughtful touches! It’s great to see how you’re taking feedback from guests and using it to improve their experience—that really sets you apart as a caring host. Small details like a doormat, tissues, and extra lighting might seem simple, but they make a big impact on comfort and safety.
You're clearly paying attention to the little things that make a stay memorable, and guests definitely notice that kind of effort. Keep going—you’re doing a great job!
Hi @Barb4181 😊,
Welcome to the hosting community! Your setup sounds so charming—a cozy studio apartment above the garage on a horse farm in Knoxville? That’s such a peaceful and inviting experience for guests!
It’s wonderful that you have a helpful neighbor to lean on during those early moments—we all run into surprises, and having that kind of support nearby makes a big difference. Hosting is definitely a learning journey, but it sounds like you're handling it with a great attitude and already building a solid foundation.
Hi Elisa,
