Hello everyone! ๐
Welcome to the Community Center! ๐ I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling๐ฒ, playing footballโฝ, and travelling๐ . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : ๐ I was born in Gujarat, India ๐ฎ๐ณ , and shifted to Toronto, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ last year! ๐ท I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. ๐ When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia ๐จ๐ด and currently living in British Columbia, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance ๐) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries ๐ and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking ๐ฒ and hiking ๐.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist ๐ฟ and like to minimise my impact on the planet ๐ as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming ๐ yoga on the beach ๐งโ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! ๐
@Elisa : I was born in Italy ๐ฎ๐น and as a lover of unique experiencesโfrom exploring the streets of Rome๐ฎ๐น , Paris ๐ซ๐ท, and Toronto ๐จ๐ฆ to appreciating timeless art and cuisineโI'm here to blend the old with the new.
@Alex : I'm originally from Spain ๐ช๐ธ, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto๐จ๐ฆ this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey โ๏ธ. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports โฝ๏ธ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. ๐ฅ
@Emilie : I was born in France ๐ซ๐ท, raised in French Polynesia ๐บ and Morocco ๐ฒ๐ฆ, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. ๐ฒ
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards๐ป,
Elisa

I'm Jonas, i am from the Democratique Republic Of Congo, in the central of Africa, i am an entrepreneur, i love creating solutions. i have created my LLC in 2020 trustEvents Africa in order to create a secured platform for investors in Africa, particulary in the DR Congo. I am pationate about finding good investors in everything possible fields, encourage them to invest in the DR Congo and find the best hosting for them in the DR Congo options using AirBnb.
It's great to see you in the community @Jonas475 . Thanks for sharing about your work with trustEvents Africa. It sounds impactful!
How do you typically connect with potential investors, and what challenges have you faced in encouraging them to explore opportunities in your region?
Best wishes,
Bhumika
Hello @Bhumika, thank you for you message. The first problem is that people thinks outside that there is war in every corner of the country, DR Congo, but that's not true. We are facing instability yes but that only at the Eastern party on the country. The rest of the country is stable, business is going and massive opportunities for any kind of fixed.
There's a lot to do in this aria.
Best regards,
Jonas

Hello everyone ! My name is Ane (Ahhhneeh), and Iโm from Las Pinas City in the Philippines. Iโve been a host for more than 10 years, and has been a blast as it gave me opportunities to meet new friends and also source of continuing income for our upcoming retirement years.
We have 3 listings and 1 of them is positioned as an Eventโs place for small parties and meetings.
Would love to hear from other host, and learn from you as well!
Mabuhay!

Hello! Thanks so much for adding me to this space!
My name is Chelsea, and I have a lovely place in the Catskills that I have been lucky to share with visitors for a bit! I am, however, just starting to get momentum on hosting, and I would love to hear from folks who have been around for a while. Question: What does it mean to be a "level 1" host?
Hi @Chelsea566 ๐,
Welcome to the Community Center!
Congratulations on reaching level 2! ๐ What inspired you to become a host?
Itโs so lovely to see that you're curious about how levels work in our Community.
Levels reflect how much a user actively contributes to the Community Center and several factors contribute to reaching higher levels.
The more constructively you help the community, hosts, and guests, the higher your level can go. It's not just about the number of replies, but also things like the number of likes you receive, the best answers you've marked, and having your comments marked as best answers/solutions by others. It also includes the number of posts or conversations you create to help other hosts and guests.
I hope this explanation helps!
Warm regards ๐ป,

My name is Dilraj! Iโm from Ontario, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ and grew up here my whole life.
I didnโt plan to be a Super Hostโฆ in fact, I was against the whole idea of renting and hosting.
But, Iโve taken inspiration from a book called โPattern Languageโ by Christopher Alexander. The architect emphasizes the idea of homes being able to โhealโ and how beauty is very much connected to our well-being and happiness.
I want to host a space where people can feel more alive despite their circumstances!
Hello @Dilraj3
Thank you so much for sharing this with us. It's lovely to hear where people draw inspiration from!
How long have you been hosting for?
