Hello everyone! ๐
Welcome to the Community Center! ๐ I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling๐ฒ, playing footballโฝ, and travelling๐ . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : ๐ I was born in Gujarat, India ๐ฎ๐ณ , and shifted to Toronto, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ last year! ๐ท I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. ๐ When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia ๐จ๐ด and currently living in British Columbia, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance ๐) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries ๐ and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking ๐ฒ and hiking ๐.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist ๐ฟ and like to minimise my impact on the planet ๐ as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming ๐ yoga on the beach ๐งโ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! ๐
@Elisa : I was born in Italy ๐ฎ๐น and as a lover of unique experiencesโfrom exploring the streets of Rome๐ฎ๐น , Paris ๐ซ๐ท, and Toronto ๐จ๐ฆ to appreciating timeless art and cuisineโI'm here to blend the old with the new.
@Alex : I'm originally from Spain ๐ช๐ธ, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto๐จ๐ฆ this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey โ๏ธ. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports โฝ๏ธ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. ๐ฅ
@Emilie : I was born in France ๐ซ๐ท, raised in French Polynesia ๐บ and Morocco ๐ฒ๐ฆ, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. ๐ฒ
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards๐ป,
Elisa

Hello @Katy600 ๐
A huge welcome to the Community Center. Hostingโs a bit of a learning curve, but youโll pick it up as you go. There are other new hosts just like you who are sharing their journey here > New Hosts: How Do You Feel About Starting Your Hosting Adventure?
Whereabouts in the US are you based? And have you had your first guests yet?
Hi, Cyn from London. After getting many "NO's from landlords for STR rentals, I built my own and became a super host in 2 months.
I am a property developer and entrepreneur with 2 additional unique sites coming up for Airbnb.
Would love more properties to co host or host.
My hobbies include gardening, knitting and adore cats.
Hello again Cyn @C197 ๐
Londonโs a busy spot for Airbnb, so your new sites should get a fair bit of interest. Whatโs been your favourite part of setting it all up?
There's a thread by @Alex where people have stopped by to share their pets > Introduce your pets ๐พ
Greetings!
I'm Kremtim, originally from Prishtina. My passions are straightforward and fulfilling: sports, cooking, and travel.
Above all, I absolutely love hosting. My experience as a host has been wonderful, and I cherish the opportunity to connect with new people. It's been a truly positive journey!
Hi @Kremtim0 ๐,
Welcome to the Community Center!
Where are most of your guests coming from?
I love cooking too, whatโs your favorite dish to make? ๐
-----
Hi @Elisa , thank you for having me ๐
Most of my guests are from Turkey, but I have had guests from all over the world. I like to meet different cultures. Something I don't like in everyday life and work as a Host is the generalization of a large group of people because of one bad guest.
My favorite dish right now is homemade meatballs๐ How about you?
Hi @Kremtim0 ๐,
Thank you so much for letting me know!
I love meatballs too. Would you mind sharing your recipe?
I usually make the Italian version myself.
-----
Hi Elisa,
That's great! It's always fun to share recipes.
Here is a great recipe for meatballs. It's a classic Italian-American style that's full of flavor.
Ingredients:
1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20 mix works well)
3/4 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Olive oil for frying
I hope you enjoy it! What's your secret ingredient for your Italian meatballs?
Hi @Kremtim0 ๐,
Thank you for sharing the recipe with me, I really appreciate it!
My recipe is the same, except for the fresh parsley, garlic, and 1/2 cup of milk.
I use onion instead of garlic and sometimes I replace the Parmigiano with Pecorino, itโs more flavorful.
Let me know if you give it a try!
-----
Hi Elisa,
Thank you for sharing your recipe with me. Sometimes I also make it without garlic.
Pecorino also feels like the right ingredient to add, as I love sheep milk!
I will let you know when I try it and give my rating. ๐
I was born and raised in beautiful Tanzania, and my passion for culture, cooking, and travel has taken me to amazing places like Norway, Dubai, and Turkey. I love meeting people from around the world and sharing a true taste of African hospitality.
Hi @Negwako0 ๐,
Welcome to the Community Center, itโs so nice to have you with us!
You bring such great energy to life.
How do you share the true taste of African hospitality with your guests? ๐

Hi Elisa and Team,
Thanks very much for welcoming me to this group. I'm very glad to be part of such an extensive group. I am absolutely Brand New to hosting so I need and will be needing lots of guidance and support from experienced colleagues here, if that's ok. I would be pleased to have some feedback on my first ever listing:

Hi @Elisa and all!
@Casa-De-La-Tierra0 My wife and I are both musicians and love good food! We launched this Airbnb last September. We lived in this unique home for 4 years prior to opening it up to the community. The house was built in the 1930's as a vacation home on the outskirts of Los Angeles and is actually built around a massive boulder! Many of the walls are actually the boulder itself. It's a magical property and we love to hear how much guests enjoy staying there.
