New to the Community Center? Introduce yourself here ‌👇

Hello everyone! 😊

Welcome to the Community Center! 👋  I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.

Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:

@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.

@Bhumika  🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.

@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.

@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community.  I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘‍ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌

@Elisa : I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 and as a lover of unique experiences—from exploring the streets of Rome🇮🇹 , Paris 🇫🇷, and Toronto 🇨🇦 to appreciating timeless art and cuisine—I'm here to blend the old with the new.

@Alex : I'm originally from Spain 🇪🇸, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto🇨🇦 this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey ✈️. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports ️ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. 🥘

@Emilie : I was born in France 🇫🇷, raised in French Polynesia 🌺 and Morocco 🇲🇦, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. 🍲

Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Warm regards🌻,

Elisa

@Elisa the wall on the left is the boulder. If you go into our listing, you can see the living room with the rock exposed!

The summer season started strong but seems to have dropped off a bit already. We thought we'd be busier. We are, however, getting all last minute bookings. Can't complain!Screenshot 2025-07-15 at 13.51.27.png

Hi @Casa-De-La-Tierra0 😊

Thank you for sharing this photo here!

Your listing is absolutely unique and charming, I’ve never seen anything quite like it. 😍

Last-minute bookings can be great too!

Are most of your reservations short stays, or do you get longer ones as well?

@Elisa thanks for checking it out! It’s definitely a unique spot. Everyone seems to really love it a lot 🙂

The majority of our bookings are 2-3 nights. Occasionally 4-7 nights and sometimes longer

Hi @Casa-De-La-Tierra0 😊

That’s a great achievement, well done!

Do you prefer short or long reservations?

@Elisa I prefer longer reservations… 5-10 day stays are ideal It’s time consuming to have back to back 2-day stays. But either way, we don’t complain! 🙂

Hi @Casa-De-La-Tierra0 😊

Thank you for letting me know!

I totally understand. Do you know why guests usually stay only 2–3 nights at your place?

Do they typically travel somewhere else afterward?

@Elisa we get a lot of couples or small groups coming for a weekend getaway. Sometimes they are on the road and we're just a stop long the way. Sometimes the groups live within driving distance. We just took out the word "romantic" out of our title. We got some pretty good feedback about the romantic implying just a couple for a night or two getaway. We're looking for wording to cater to groups and families who might stay longer.

Hi @Casa-De-La-Tierra0 😊

Thank you for your kind answer!

That’s amazing, I’m really happy for you. It might be interesting to ask this question in our host community. I’m sure they’ll have some great suggestions. Have you thought about doing that?

Welcome to the Community Center! Listing your place is a good first step, now it’s just a bit of patience while you wait for your first guests!

Is there anything about hosting that you’d like to know more about? I highly recommend asking any questions that you have in a new thread. 👇

Hi. I'm curious. Why are there no American/USA Community Managers? How does one become such? Are these volunteer or paid titles?

Hi everybody. I'm Ashley and I live in the US (Idaho) and am new to AirBnB. My husband and I are in the tail end of purchasing a home (container homes) in Costa Rica and are excited to start this journey of using the platform for renting and getting to know everything it entails.

Hi @Ashley2254 👋, welcome aboard!

That’s brilliant about your new place in Costa Rica. I've heard a lot about container homes! Have you and your husband got any plans for how you’ll set up the space?

You're definitely in the right space to get support so if you've got any question, or fancy sharing a photo, getting a listing critique or just updating us with your journey, we're here for it!
