Hello everyone! ๐
Welcome to the Community Center! ๐ I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling๐ฒ, playing footballโฝ, and travelling๐ . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : ๐ I was born in Gujarat, India ๐ฎ๐ณ , and shifted to Toronto, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ last year! ๐ท I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. ๐ When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia ๐จ๐ด and currently living in British Columbia, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance ๐) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries ๐ and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking ๐ฒ and hiking ๐.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist ๐ฟ and like to minimise my impact on the planet ๐ as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming ๐ yoga on the beach ๐งโ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! ๐
@Elisa : I was born in Italy ๐ฎ๐น and as a lover of unique experiencesโfrom exploring the streets of Rome๐ฎ๐น , Paris ๐ซ๐ท, and Toronto ๐จ๐ฆ to appreciating timeless art and cuisineโI'm here to blend the old with the new.
@Alex : I'm originally from Spain ๐ช๐ธ, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto๐จ๐ฆ this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey โ๏ธ. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports โฝ๏ธ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. ๐ฅ
@Emilie : I was born in France ๐ซ๐ท, raised in French Polynesia ๐บ and Morocco ๐ฒ๐ฆ, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. ๐ฒ
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards๐ป,
Elisa

Helloooo Thank you for hosting this info webinar!
This is my/our first listings! Yay. I live in Bethesda, MD and I also have a place in Tierra Verde, FL. We brought a new place so we're looking to add our "old" place to Airbnb. Because it's a small building-only 4 units- we're only going to rent out the place monthly. And honestly, we prefer 2 months minimum. I don't know how to price our place for monthly. Any help would be appreciated!
Hi @Nancy2434 ๐,
Welcome to the Community Center!
Your first listing must be exciting. ๐ How did you come up with this idea?

Tom here from Charleston, SC - USA ๐บ๐ธ - I have been a host for a long time and love helping people have an awesome vacation. I love nature activities, decor design, outdoor cooking and all things hospitality!
Hi @Tom5038 ๐,
Itโs nice to have you here, welcome!
How many years have you been hosting?
I love cooking as well, what do you enjoy cooking the most?
-----
Nice to meet you too. I have been hosting for about 12 years, my profile only shows a few but I had a company profile I used in the past when I was managing beach houses full time in Charleston, SC.
As for cooking, my favorite things to do are soups and outdoor cooking experiments. I do a lot of grilling and stuff like that and also love to experiment with vegan alternatives of traditional outdoor grill stuff.
Hi @Tom5038 ๐,
Thank you for your kind reply.
Twelve years is a long time, congratulations on this achievement! ๐
What vegan alternatives have you tried? Thatโs really interesting.
-----
Vegan Chili and Grilling Skewers
@Tom5038 That sounds delicious. How do you make them?
-----
In our community, Folly Beach South Carolina (basically the Charleston Area) we have a big food festival every February and have various cooking competitions and Chili is one of them. It's a pretty fun thing and people vote for their favorite by throwing a dollar in your jar, and then all the money goes to a local no-kill pet shelter, so it's a good all around thing. In doing this competition and many other Chili cookoffs (fun reason to day trip somewhere) I noticed it was very rare if ever that someone had a vegan option. I am not total vegan but have lived that diet for months at a time and have some friends that are 100% and I would see them and other vegans sadly not be able to participate in these taste contests so I experimented a lot and came up woth a really good recipie, that in fact has come in 2nd place or at least 5th in many competitions, some pretty big. The basic challenge with chili is to come up with a good meat analog for both the small meat texture for ground beef and then the larger meat textures for stew beef. For the small I use couscous and then for the large I use jumbo butter beans, they work really well. I also make the chili pretty spicy and thus even vegan skeptical "manly men" once tasting mine will often vote for it over traditional meat chilis because I go over the top on flavor and other fresh stuff like the tomatoes and onions I use. At the end of the day its all about flavor and texture!
Wow! Thatโs interesting, something to see at least once in a lifetime.
Do you get guests who come just for this event?

Hi everyone! Iโm Katie, a co-host based in the heart of Southampton, NYโwhere the Atlantic breeze meets centuries of history and community spirit. I reside and support the East End of Long Island, a place thatโs more than just beaches and boutiques (though we have plenty of those!). What makes this area truly special is its rhythm: quiet mornings, vibrant local markets, and neighbors who still wave from their porches.
I love welcoming guests into spaces that reflect the soul of the Hamptonsโwhether itโs a cozy cottage near the bay or a sunlit retreat tucked behind hydrangeas. Each stay is designed with care, clarity, and a touch of concierge-level magic. Looking forward to connecting with fellow hosts who believe hospitality is about heart, not just check-in times.
Hi @Katie1884 ๐,
Thank you for sharing your introduction here, and welcome to the Community Center!
You live in a beautiful area. ๐
How many listings do you take care of? How is this hosting season going for you?
-----
@Elisa I just got 'approved' last night so no listings just yet (fingers crossed). I just placed some ads online (paid and free) offering my services. I have my own condo that I rent out in Folly Beach. SC so I have a lot of experience. Just need a few big breaks! #thankyouforasking
Hi, my name is Jen. Iโm originally from the Philippines and currently based in Austin. Iโve been co-hosting properties for over 4 years, managing listings across Texas, Massachusetts, and the UK.
Hi @Jenelie0 ๐,
Welcome to the Community Center!
That sounds exciting. ๐
Do you do this full-time? And what do you usually take care of as a Co-host?
