Hello everyone! 😊
Welcome to the Community Center! 👋 I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football⚽, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : 🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘 and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌
@Elisa : I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 and as a lover of unique experiences—from exploring the streets of Rome🇮🇹 , Paris 🇫🇷, and Toronto 🇨🇦 to appreciating timeless art and cuisine—I'm here to blend the old with the new.
@Alex : I'm originally from Spain 🇪🇸, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto🇨🇦 this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey ✈️. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports ⚽️ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. 🥘
@Emilie : I was born in France 🇫🇷, raised in French Polynesia 🌺 and Morocco 🇲🇦, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. 🍲
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards🌻,
Elisa

Hi!
I'm Bill. My wife and I grew up in Chicago but we've lived on Capitol Hill in DC for 15 years now. We just started as hosts in November, listing the basement apartment in our historic rowhouse, just off of Pennsylvania Ave and in view of the Capitol. I've traveled using Airbnb for over a decade and it's fun to be on this side of things now as a host.
Hi @Bill1815 😊,
Welcome to the Community Center!
I love Chicago, it’s such a beautiful city. 😍 How was growing up there?
How is it going with your listing? Have you set up everything correctly?
-----
It was great growing up there, but we don't miss the winters! 🥶
The listing is booked up through December. We're off to a great start!
Hi @Bill1815 😊,
Thank you for letting me know.
I understand, I live in Toronto, and the weather can be really challenging sometimes.
Such a marvelous start, well done! 🎉
Are you decorating your listing for the holidays?

Hi Guys,
I am Abhishek from India 🇮🇳. I am from Jaipur, the Pink City in Rajasthan. My family has an ancestral property which is ~70 years old. It has been a long standing dream to turn place in to an airbnb and I have started with 1 apartment ~3 months back. I think I am enjoying hosting a bit too much
I am in a work from home job, love to ride on my motorcycle 🏍️, am an Advanced Scuba Diver 🤿 and love traveling 🌎
Very excited to join this community! 🤩
Hi @Abhishek208
Welcome to the community! We're glad to have you here (especially since you're so cool scuba diving and riding a motorcycle) 🙂
It's sounds like a nice project that you're turning your family property into and Airbnb! We'd love to see your journey along the way.
I would recommend that you ask the Community for listing critique as it could be very helpful receiving feedback from fellow Hosts. Read more on how to ask listing critique by clicking here👈
I hope this helps!
hi Elisa
Dear Airbnb Support / Payments Team,
I am writing to formally raise a serious concern regarding outstanding payouts due to me as an Airbnb host.
I rejoined Airbnb as a host and was informed that my payout was scheduled for 5 December. To date, no payment has been received. Despite multiple follow-ups, I have only received repeated assurances that payment would be made, none of which have materialised.
To eliminate any uncertainty on my side, I personally visited my bank and obtained an official bank statement confirming that no payment was received or pending. This proof was provided, yet the situation remains unresolved and the promises of payment continue without action.
This is not the first time I have experienced this issue with Airbnb. A similar non-payment occurred in 2018, which makes this matter particularly concerning and suggests a recurring problem.
At this point, I require:
Immediate confirmation of when full payment will be made, with a clear reference number and proof of payment; and
The appropriate contact details for Airbnb’s legal department, as I am now considering proceeding with formal legal action should this matter not be resolved without further delay.
Please treat this email as a formal demand. I trust Airbnb will understand the seriousness of withholding funds owed to a host and will act accordingly.
I expect a written response within 5 business days.
Kind regards,
Marilice Le Roux
