New to the Community Center? Introduce yourself here ‌👇

Hello everyone! 😊

Welcome to the Community Center! 👋  I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.

Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:

@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.

@Bhumika  🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.

@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.

@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community.  I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘‍ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌

@Emilie : I was born in France 🇫🇷, raised in French Polynesia 🌺 and Morocco 🇲🇦, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. 🍲

Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Warm regards🌻,

Elisa

That’s such a lovely question 😊

One dish that always creates a real “wow” moment for my guests is Aslam’s butter chicken in Old Delhi. It’s very different from what people expect, there’s no heavy tomato gravy like the typical restaurant version. Instead, it’s smoky, rich, and finished with a generous layer of melted butter that just seeps into the chicken. Most guests are genuinely surprised by how simple yet incredibly flavourful it is, and the shop is right in the middle of the buzzing lanes, makes it even more special.

But beyond the food, it’s the human moments that stay with me.

I remember one guest who was extremely happy throughout the tour. At the end, she quietly slipped some money into my pocket to appreciate the experience. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but later when I checked, I realised it was a full stack of notes, more than $100, actually over 50% of the total cost of the experience.

I immediately messaged her, and she told me she was new to Indian currency and hadn’t realised how much she had given. She had already left and was about two hours away, but I knew that money would matter for the rest of her trip. I spoke with her and I got on my bike, and returned every bit of it.

She was so relieved and happy, she hugged me and mentioned she had an early flight the next morning. That moment really stayed with me. It wasn’t just about the food tour anymore, it felt like I had built a genuine human connection.

And honestly, that’s what makes these experiences truly special for me.

That is such a beautiful story @Devender6 - thank you so much for sharing that with us 😍 I love that part where you said about it being a 'genuine human connection' because that's so important; everyone experiencing the world together, learning and growing.

By the way, that butter chicken sounds AMAZING 😍

Hi everyone! 😊

I’m Tonmoy, based in Toronto, Canada. I’ve been actively hosting on Airbnb and currently managing and scaling multiple short-term rental properties. What started as a single unit has grown into a strong interest in building a full-fledged Airbnb business.

I really enjoy the operational side of hosting — from guest communication and pricing strategy to optimizing listings and delivering great guest experiences. I’m also exploring ways to expand further by partnering with property owners and identifying profitable opportunities.

Outside of hosting, I have a background in finance and marketing, and I’m always looking to learn, connect, and exchange ideas with fellow hosts.

Looking forward to being part of this community and learning from all of you! 🙌

Hi @Tonmoy3 😊,

Thanks for sharing your journey!

It’s always interesting to see how something that starts with one unit can grow into a full business.

I’m curious, as you’ve been scaling, what has been the biggest challenge to keep consistent across all your listings?
