Propane Usage for Pools and hot tubs

Any hosts on here have pools/hot tubs that are heated with propane? We are in Lake Havasu City, Arizona and have this situation. We are wondering how you monitor and charge for the propane used. Do you have a certain formula or just charge by the day?
