Hello everyone,
I’m Devraj, a host from Thamel, Kathmandu, Nepal. I love engaging with travelers and offering them unique experiences such as meditation, singing bowl healing, and guided trekking. These practices have not only shaped my personal journey but have also helped me connect with people in a meaningful way.
Outside of hosting, I enjoy spending time in nature, exploring the Himalayan mountains, and connecting with spiritual practices. I also have a passion for helping others find healing and peace, both through my work and in my daily life.
What about you all? What hobbies or passions keep you busy outside of hosting? I’d love to hear about what makes you feel fulfilled and how your personal interests have influenced your hosting experience!
Looking forward to chatting with you all!
Best,
Devraj

I was trying to think hobby I share with my guests haha.
I do longer stays all business related stays, so most days by 6am everyone is gone for the day and returns are usually after 4pm reality is any of us when we have worked and driven 12 hours just want to go to their room and relax.
I can say I often answer business questions. lol
I share thoughts with them as I do here.
I guess that is my sharing hobby.
Hello @Thamel-Central-Apartment0 and @Elisa ,
Hello Devraj,
Greetings from Portugal, and thank you for reaching out and sharing the magnificent lifestyle you lead and how it weaves into your experience as a host on Airbnb. I believe that in such a special place as yours, it can be truly enriching for guests not only to enjoy the accommodation but also to feel the essence of life as seen through the host’s eyes.
For example, our property is surrounded by a large garden, and I often tell guests how important it is for me to stay connected to nature, even though we’re located in a very urban environment. That connection is part of what I hope they experience when they stay with us.
I know you didn’t ask for feedback, but I wanted to share a small thought about your property listing. I was a little disappointed, to be honest. As an architect, I always look at things through a design lens, and when I saw your property, I felt it could have been anywhere—maybe somewhere in the Midwest of the US. It’s very modern and clean, but it doesn’t reflect the uniqueness of your location or lifestyle. There are no elements that show the spiritual atmosphere you described.
For instance, I’m into music, and there’s a wall in our house that’s dedicated to that passion. I think it’s meaningful for guests to feel the things that bring us joy. If I were you, I would shape the space to offer a more spiritual and specific experience that aligns with your lifestyle. Just something to consider.
As for my own hobbies, I’m active in a couple of samba groups in my region. We meet weekly, and since I’m in more than one group, I end up playing on multiple days—with a different instrument in each one. I’ve thought about bringing samba into the guest experience, maybe even inviting them to join. But samba, unlike meditation, is loud—and while some guests might enjoy it, I’m sure others wouldn’t. So for now, I keep that part of my life separate from the accommodation.
Wishing you all the best, and thank you again for such an inspiring post.
Warm regards,
Guy
