Hello everyone,
We all have a destination that lingers in our memory, be it a specific city or village, a quiet mountain retreat, tropical island, or even a spot not far from home.
Personally, one place I’ll never forget is Suraj Tal lake, India. It's the third-highest lake in India and the 21st highest in the world. As you can see the view is breath taking! 😍
I'd also love to hear about your travel adventures and some of your favourite travel destinations! Tell us in one word or sentence, 👉What’s the best place you’ve ever visited? (Your photos are welcome📸)
As September 27th marks World Tourism Day, it’s a perfect time to share your favourite travel destinations with us! 📖
Looking forward to reading your comments!
Warm regards,
Bhumika
@Emilie I know right! Scarborough Bluffs and Downtown's Harbour front are two of the best spots to spend a peaceful evening with family and friends 😍
@Emilie I don’t think it’s particularly popular with our guests. Also my favorite Toronto beach is Budapest Beach in downtown 😀
Bluffers Beach is still a great place to have a picnic etc though.
@Zheng49 I missed that one! Will have to come back and make sure it's on my list this time 😊

@Zheng49 , have you been to R.C. Harris Water Treatment Plant? The views there are exotic!
I have been there a couple of times during the day ,and also visited when there was a blood moon a year ago 😍 The moon looked so mystic and mighty from that location. I'd definitely recommend you to visit if you haven't yet 😊
@Bhumika For me it is Tehran - A lovely city with wonderful people. Just a shame I am no longer welcome in the USA.
Hi @Mike-And-Jane0 , did you visit Tehran as part of a group tour, or did you organize the trip on your own?
I know some travelers prefer guided experiences while others enjoy planning their own tours. I personally prefer guided tours where I need to worry only about packing the bags 😝 I am curious what's your approach to travel? 😉
@Bhumika I visited about half a dozen times on business. Never an easy trip as the company was paranoid about safety but the reality was that I could walk around and visit restaurants and museums without feeling unsafe at all. Only slight issue was when walking back to the hotel one night after having rather too much wine and having to go past the Iranian army who were surrounding an embassy for some strange reason.
My current approach to travel is similar - Just get out and about in a place whilst visiting all the main attractions. We were in Venice recently and took two hours to see the Doge's palace. Tour groups were rushed around in less than an hour and missed out huge chunks of the place which confirmed my views on these tours.
@Mike-And-Jane0 , seems like it was quite an experience!
I agree, tour groups are sometimes rushed and it doesn't allow one to absorb the beauty of these local attractions. I had similar situation when I visited Singapore. We missed visiting the Universal Studios, just because we had to cover other locations. It's still on my "missed" visit list. I'll try my luck next time 😥
Venice
Buongiorno @Bhumika ,
I'm playing at home 😁 but in my opinion Venice is the most beautiful city in the world.
Andrea
Indeed @Andrea6232 , it's truly timeless and magical! 😍
Do you have a favourite spot that you love to go back and just relax with family or friends or just contemplate about life in general ? 😉
@Bhumika Venice is my favourite spot that I love to go back and just relax with family or friends 😉
Haha @Andrea6232 , love it! 😍
Do you have a fun fact about Venice for us? 😉 Something that you think other people might not know!
Stravedamento - Foto: Marco Contessa
If you want to understand what Venice is like, you have to go to the bell tower on the island of San Giorgio on a clear day. From here, you can admire the whole city, and if you're lucky, witness a strange optical phenomenon that the Venetians call “stravedamento.” The Alps provide the backdrop to Venice for a breathtaking landscape!
@Andrea6232 That’s such a beautiful photo!
I’ve always wanted to visit San Lazzaro Island in Venice. Have you been? I just looked it up and saw it’s only a short ferry ride to San Giorgio. Hopefully one day soon I’ll get to see both places and witness the stravedamento for myself. 😍
To our fellow Venetians @Cinzia371, @Paola2600, @Roberta1363, @Federico882, @Anna424, @Francesca2627,
@Kateryna60, @Paola2422 Do you agree with Andrea that Venice is the most beautiful city in the world? Honestly, it’s hard to beat. Share the best place you've ever vistied!

Ciao @Emilie , yes I have visited the island of San Lazzaro degli Armeni. I took a guided tour inside its monastery, which was very, very interesting!
