Are you sharing other stuff apart from your home?? #sharingeconomy

Hi Guys! Trying to get a sense of how many hosts in the city rent other assets like cars too. Do you

1. Do not have a spare car to rent

2. Have a spare car but do not currently rent

3. Renting a spare car on Turo/GetAround etc.

Please share which category you fall under.

Also would love to get insights on

1. Why don't you share your car if you have it? Any existing issues with Get Around / Turo?

2. Would you consider a service that helps you rent a car to your guests, should they need one?

Thanks a lot for participating guys, means a loooot!!!

We have two cars but we need them. Would it be financially beneficial to buy a car specifically for the purposes of renting it out in a short-term basis? Our house is quite new to Airbnb, but has booked up quickly. Basically all of our guests will need a car.

@Shannon330 , welcome to ABB hosting!    Your place is lovely and it should rent out well for you.  Glad you're already getting bookings. How exciting!

As far as renting out or letting guests borrow your car just adds another level of stress and concerns.  Not to mention, your auto insurance premuim may change too.  UBER is the way to get around these days.

We have a camper van that we sometimes use when we rent our entire home (at least a week) — it gives a “free” place to stay and an excuse to take a road trip! We have been toying with the possibility of renting it to guests using the Outdoorsy platform when we are not using it, but so far we have not been comfortable enough to try it out yet...

Renting our OWN home can be stressful since we care very much about it so you would think renting our Camper Van, even though we love it, too, would be easier, but the fact that guests are driving off in it is somewhat concerning. Still, we like the idea that the option exists, both for hosts and for guests!
