British Columbia provincial and municipal tax update (good news)

Reading about this change on the board, I was quite freaked about how to manage it. Also confused as to why we hadn't been alerted. Although I try to stay on top of things, I was completely unaware of this change and how close it was.

I just reached out to an Airbnb official who has been excellent in providing support and was told Airbnb will take care of it, it will all be automated, we don't have to do anything, *and* it will not be applied retroactively to old bookings.

They further said that the reason it hadn't been announced or a discussion with hosts initiated was because it had taken quite some time to sort. The provincial tax is uniform, ofc, but every municipality has it's own taxation rate, so it was fairly complex to get it all sorted.

Lastly I was informed that there would be an announcment directly to us, shortly.

Hope that allays any anxiety others might have been feeling. I know was kind of stressed about it!
