Do you need a local business license to operate a bunch of Airbnb properties? If yes, what licenses should I apply for ?

I am considering getting a business license for operating my property thinking that if I can show that I am generating income, it may raise the value of my house and I could use the business to finance jet skiis to have available for my guests to rent. Several of my guests said that they would definitely rent them as they were spending hundereds renting them in town. Can anyone offer some advice on this? Is my thinking on the right track?
