It's been a while since we've hosted guests ourselves, but from our experience the key exchange is probably the trickiest part of airbnb. If you're willing to get your hands dirty, you can clean. If you know how to write an email, you can communicate with guests. If you know your town, you can provide guidance and insight. But sometimes guests simply need to arrive at the strangest times, where you find yourself juggling a full time job to let them in, or waking up way too early in the morning to assist them with the bags.
Despite the key exchange challenges, airbnb hosting was one of the most rewarding things we've done, and only due to our personal priorities changing did we move away from it - hopefully temporarily.
