10 percent discount offered by air bnb even when I have policy set to strict

Why do air bnb give 10 percent discount when it’s not part of my strict booking policy and why when not accepted the booking still got dates blocked out

@Sara5699I can't see your listing to comment, but have you perhaps set a discount based on length of stay, or do you have a discount set up because you're a new host? If you're unsure, go to your Listing tab on your dashboard, then select Pricing. It will show you any discounts that are set up for length of stay. Your calendar should show any special offers in place.

Your days may have been blocked because you didn't accept or decline the reservation. You have to take action: if you just leave it, Airbnb assumes that you don't want to book those dates and blocks them out. If you are a new host, I would just call or message Airbnb, explain what happened, and ask for them to unblock the dates. I like messaging them on Twitter @airbnbhelp. It's easy to lay out your issue, and wait times if you call in are pretty long at the moment.

Your strict cancellation policy has no bearing on discounts. It's totally unrelated.

@Sara5699 I suspect you have inadvertently offered the 10% discount to make a booking non-refundable whereas your strict policy will refund 50%.

Even with this non-refundable thing Extenuating circumstances still applies so you can still get cancellations.

@Sara5699  When you say"not accepted the booking", do you mean you cancelled an Instant Book reservation? If so,  Airbnb will block your calendar if you cancel a reservation. You can't unblock it- it's a penalty for cancelling.

If it's that you are declining a bunch of Inquiries or Requests, you need to not do that. There are methods hosts use to encourage guests to withdraw their requests if they aren't appropriate, and if it's an Inquiry, you neither have to pre-approve nor decline- just messaging back is all that's required.

@Sarah977 I thought instant book hosts got 3 penalty free cancellations per year so would not get the calendar blocked if within this number

@Mike-And-Jane0  I've never used IB, but yes, that's my understanding. The OP hasn't really explained the details of what she is doing, so it's hard to know why these things are happening to her. Perhaps she's cancelled beyond 3 IBs.
