20% Discount on first 3 bookings?

Good day

Do I have to give 20% on my first 3 bookings or not as I'm giving 15% off for weekly bookings and 42% for monthly bookings?

Kind regards

Jeanette

Hello @Jeanette416

No you can remove it if you want but once removed you can't get it back I believe.

If you are new, it's wise to be priced under your competition to get some reviews ASAP, so as long as you've studied the pricing of similar listings you may be alright.  Guests will invariably go with hosts who have reviews and a proven track record over a new host, unless they are scammers of course.

You'll see in the Airbnb article below that the new host promotion is listed as being the #1 factor for being chosen by the algorithm so it's something you should factor in especially as the new host boost seems to have been shortened recently with the new way the algorithme has been configured.

What might be an idea, is to remove the other discounts until the first three reservations with the 20% discount have been used up?  Then bring those other discounts back.  Some promotions are stackable.

@Jeanette416 I would, as @Joelle43 suggests, remove your discounts and allow the 30% discount. The search position is way more important than the actual price. Hosts who do not get a good start on Airbnb can spiral down the search rankings as bookings are also key to being on the first page. Without early bookings it is really hard to recover.

Hi @Jeanette416

Yes, using the promo is strategic and smart for new hosts. It’s one of the fastest ways to get early traction, reviews, and higher ranking in search results.

Listings that activate the 20% new listing promo do get a temporary boost in search results.
Those first 3 guests often translate to the first 3 reviews, which are essential to start building trust and ranking higher in search.
