30 day listings in Anaheim

Apparently it’s illegal to have short term rentals in Anaheim (less the 30 days). I got a notice in the mail about it with the threat to be fined $500 for each night that’s booked. Just wondering two things: is there a way to get around this? Do 30-day rentals in Anaheim ever get booked?

If you do research on Airbnb and other listing platforms in your area you will be able to see if listings are attracting 30 day plus bookings in your location  @Joe2548 . I would imagine like in most major cities and towns there is a longer term rental market.

I would imagine there must be a market or else every other listing in your city would be illegal.A quick search on Google shows that your city introduced these restrictions in June last year.

You could contact a lawyer for advice but if there are STR restrictions you should be complying with them. You are lucky your city isn't looking to fine you for your bookings to date since last summer, rather than letting you know if you continue to accept bookings of less than 30 days you will be fined.

@Joe2548 I know this response is a year too late, but I just found this post. I have a Mid-Term Rental in the Anaheim resort area and am having NO problem booking 30+ day stays. There are medical professionals, corporate contractors, remote workers and insurance companies looking for longer stays as well as other travelers.
