Air bnb not paying or responsible

Just had a group of guests in my house in Tampa. [Guest], and [Guest]. They booked 1 night on same day,  then 9 more nights. On night 6 I realized I never got paid, and it’s over $1700.. I depend on that money. I got distracted, I should’ve noticed day 3. Night 1 payment went through but was never sent. When night 2-9 were deemed insufficient funds the whole thing was frozen, and air bnb NEVER NOTIFIED me that they were declined. Air bnb claims they told the guest but the guests says it went through and day 6 was the first time they heard anything. Why not tell me immediately it’s my house! Turns out they’re criminals, mug shots, used fake names, and I had to remove them with police.. found their real name on a car rental receipt. Battery of pregnant woman... they had a daughter. Now air bnb has it sent to their collections team which will do absolutely nothing. Cops can’t do anything. My advice is keep a 48hr booking minimum. And no extensions!! They’ll cancel the card on file and stay for free 2-3 nights or more if you don’t notice sooner!
