Airbnb in Mexico - anyone familiar with the tax structure?

Hi everyone!

New airbnb host here. My partner and I just opened up a penthouse apartment in Tulum. In my research I didn't come across needing the RFC # (I'm seeing it's recently implemented, now). Is anyone familiar with this in MX? My co-host (resides in MX), suggested I go with a company that lends the RFC and handles the paperwork.

I just got off a meeting with them. So they will lend me their RFC # and bank account for payouts. They withhold the tax and VAT, and 10% commission.
The only thing I'm not too sure about is that they pay out via a VISA debit card which they reload each payout. She said they are not able to wire the funds. So I really have no ties to my actual business bank account and LLC if I go with them. This would in turn reflect poorly on the credit side of my business.

Looking for some advice in this area. Please let me know if you handle the taxes yourself, or if you use a company such as this.

Thanks in advance!

Hello @Natasha831, thank you for posting in our community.

@Karen3152, one of the hosts in the Community Center, has created a guide titled US Citizens with Property in Mexico: Paying Mexican Taxes. Although it is specifically written for U.S. citizens, I wanted to share it with you in case some of the information may also apply to Canadian citizens.

Please feel free to take a look and let me know if you find anything helpful for your situation.

Kind regards,
