Airbnb insurance and early check ins

Is it true that hosts are NOT covered by Airbnb liability or home damage insurance if guests check in early because their reservation hasn’t started?

I would think that insurance and liability would apply if guests have checked in early. It certainly should.

Check your home insurance policy wording to be sure, and ask Airbnb directly how their so-called cover deals with this scenario.

Until recently I had my automated welcome email with the keycodes etc. set to send the previous night, so there was a theoretical scenario where the guests could let themselves in the day before their booking started.
