Boat insurance

Hi, I’m new to hosting and planning to host a waterfront property where I keep my boat on a boat lift.  I’m not planning, at least not, to host the boat, but I still want to protect it from potential damage caused by the guests.

I read through AirBnb’s Host Guarantee terms and conditions, and it looks like the boat is not covered unless it is part of accommodation.

How do I protect my boat?  Will my marine insurance be enough or do I need to buy an additional STR insurance which explicitly covers personal watercrafts?

@Igor464 consult your insurer. Be aware that most homeowner's insurance does not allow/cover STR at all.

Do not count on Airbnb's "guarantee" for anything. It is a joke.

I would make sure your guests can't access your boat - so there is no opportunity for damage @Igor464

Contacted my boat insurance company (Geico Marine).  They asked to explicitly exclude use of boat in the rental agreement, and add preventive measures to reduce chance of theft and/or damage.
