Business License

Is it necessary for us to get business license if our family lives in our home and rents our studio suite out through Airbnb if we are in Langley? Please advise.

I don't know about business licenses but you would need to check if there are short term rental regulations in your area with your local government and if so whether you meet the criteria  @Wendy1933 

In the UK you need planning permission to turn a suite from residential to commercial use - but not sure how regulations work in Canada .

That's a good question. Every province has their own rules. I live in Ontario and I had to purchase a registration licence from the city in order to rent out my condo, but I rent the whole place out. 
Unfortunately, I'm not sure about BC. I would encourage you to look into your city's website.
