Chicago BACP Permit Help

Hi,

I'm in a situation I cannot seem to find an answer.

I live in a two flat that I own and is my primary residence. My documents do not list unit number, not my deed, taxes, ID, utilities. They just have my street address.

The city of Chicago keeps rejecting my application for a permit because my documents don't list unit number. But if I try to list it as a partial residence, they reject that too. It's absurd.

Does anyone live in a converted two flat? Do you have one unit as your residence?

It makes no sense if I own both units that I can't rent the one I'm not in!

I've had multiple emails with the BACP with zero explanation as to what I can actually do.

Hi @Nick3248 👋

It's been a while since you posted and I'm wondering whether you managed to get a resolution to your question? If not, I can tag some Hosts in from the area that will be able to support.

Looking forward to hearing from you. 😊

So there wasn't a straightforward solution, I finally was put in touch with a person there who had to manually push through my application as a single family to match the city records.

So if someone finds themselves in the same pickle, multiple emails explaining it eventually it gets handled by someone that can make it work..¯\_(ツ)_/¯
