Confused about the Airbnb Management fee

Hey there! I'm a bit confused about the Airbnb management fee.  So it's a percentage that goes to whom? Airbnb, is that how they get paid?

Or is that where the rental management fee comes in? Do guest pay for the management fee or is it a fee that comes off the top of all collected?

I'm making this harder then it probably is.

Review your guest payout versus host payout.

Guest Paid

Nightly rent - Paid to you

Cleaning fee - Paid to you

Guest Service Fee - Paid to AirBnB (usually 15% of rent plus cleaning - does not include taxes)

Occupancy taxes - Paid to AirBnB (unless there is no agreement with your municipality and then the taxes would be paid to you to remit).

Host Payout

Nightly rent - paid to you

Cleaning fee - Paid to you

Host Service Fee (3.0%) the amount AirBnB charges to process the guest payment that is remitted to you and is deducted from your gross receipts.

@Michelle3449 there are two choices in most countries

Either Host pays 3%+VAT and guest pays 14.2%+VAT or, under simplified pricing host pays 15%+VAT.

The latter sounds a better deal but the percentages are of different numbers so it works out very similar depending on the VAT rate charged. Not sure how sales tax works in the USA or what it is charged on. In Europe most people are only charged VAT on the Airbnb fees not the full rental amount.
