Decline in bookings

I've had 2 good years with AirBnB with 200 plus nights sold in each of 2022 and 2023 but I now find I have almost no bookings coming through for 2024.   I have stuck to automatic pricing for the whole year.  This time last year and the year before I already had numerous bookings for the following year, but I'm at a bit of a loss to explain the lack of bookings for next year.  I am a Superhost and have checked my listing.  Are there any tools available to help me try and identify the cause of this lack of bookings.  It might be economic factors that are driving it, but it would be useful to know if other properties and places are seeing this downturn in business in my area.

In the UK many areas are suffering from oversaturated markets coupled with falling demand because of the recessions.

Have you looked at Airdna? @Alan1716

Hello @Alan1716, welcome to the Airbnb Community Center.

Have you noticed/tried out Helen's suggestions? I am also sharing a link with step-by-step instructions on how to start a listing critique in our community. This has helped many hosts make some improvements that lead to more bookings: https://community.withairbnb.com/t5/Ask-about-your-listing/How-to-ask-for-listing-critique-on-the-Co...

I hope this helps.

Hi Alan,

My hubby and I have been running our Airbnb for around 6 years and I've been a superhost with almost all 5-star reviews. We are dead in the water at the moment! After having our best year ever last financial year, bookings have dried up to nearly nothing. So quiet that I am now going back to work. Australia is also having financial issues, coupled with folks going overseas, rather than holidaying locally. I have changed my pricing, and done marketing and promotions, all to no avail.

I think it's just a difficult time.

Best of luck,

Julie.

We are experiencing zero bookings too. Winter months are typically slower, but we usually have the holiday dates booked.

I was searching for information on declining airbnb bookings and came across yours.  We're also not getting anything.  We don't tend to get a lot as its priced at a premium, but we rely on one possibly two booking per month, as we often get a week or a two week booking.  We've not had a single request and I can only put it down to the state of the economy at the moment.  Everyone seems very cautious.
