Hello everyone ๐
There are many ways to promote your listing, and social media has become a powerful tool to reach people around the world. ๐
With that in mind, Iโd love to ask: do you use social media to promote your Airbnb listing? ๐ฒ If so, which platforms do you use: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or others?
Have you found that this strategy increases views or leads to actual bookings?
Share whatโs worked for you (or what hasnโt) below, weโd love to learn from your experience!

Hello @Christy408
Thank you for sharing this. Is there any reason why you havenโt given it a try?
Regards,
I own a Printing Shipping Business and struggle to keep up SM posts with that.
As I only rent out one studio condo on AB&B, it doesn't seem like it would be worth the out put of time.
I have thought about making posts on my personal account so my friends could repost or tell their friends and family that were visiting.
I would also like to add it to my Business website--like an ad since I get a lot of traffic there. Just not sure how to add it in a way that it looks good, but isn't distracting to my business.
Hey Paula,
nice to hear from the community. I didnโt promote my listings on social medias but I think am going to try it and let you know the outcomes. And if you suggest any thing on it, am open for it. Thanks
Hello @David12817,
Thank you for sharing your experience.
Some hosts have shared great practices in this thread, so please feel free to ask any questions here, they might be able to lend a hand. I especially suggest taking a look at @Elise43โs and @Gina2790โs examples.
Regards,
We use facebook and instagram to promote our listings - also we post reels on the farm ( animals, compost, crops, beautiful sceneries ...). This helps promote our listings for the local clients - Most of the mauritian population is on social media.
This is great, @Christine4507. After you promote it on social media, do your guests book directly through the Airbnb app?
Regards,
@Paula Not really - It is the Mauritians who are mostly on Facebook and they call us directly- Airbnb is for international bookings mostly
Thank you for sharing this, @Christine4507. Does this mean you use a leasing document with guests who you donโt book through the app?
Regards,
No @Paula , they are mauritians generally- we send them an invoice and they pay us directly for one or two nights generally- no contract - just the description of the amenities and a disclaimer for them to sign upon check in
No
Hello @Donna1655,
Thank you for sharing your opinion. If youโre ever interested in exploring this, you can find some great examples from other hosts in this thread.

Hello ๐
Yes, I do use social media to promote my listing. I mainly use Instagram and Facebook, but Instagram has been significantly more powerful for me in terms of generating confirmed bookings.
Iโve found Instagram to be more effective because of the strong visual nature of the platform โ especially with short videos, reels, and the use of audio effects like trending music. These elements help showcase the property experience in a much more engaging way compared to static images.
Another big advantage is that guests can contact us directly without paying any intermediary or platform fees, which many of them appreciate.
However, one challenge Iโve noticed is the presence of fake or impersonated accounts on Instagram. Unfortunately, some people create untrustworthy profiles, which can expose guests to scams. This is something hosts and guests should stay cautious about.
Overall though, social media โ particularly Instagram โ has been very valuable for my business.

Mohammed
Hello @Rizooto0 Thanks for sharing this Rizooto, have oyu explore the option to invite your guest roght instagram but for them to book directly with Airbnb?
You can read on this thread some great examples that hosts who do this.
Regards,
Yes, absolutely โ this is actually something I already implement. My Instagram bio clearly states that the property is available on Airbnb, and I include direct links that take visitors straight to the listings.
I often encourage guests, especially those who may not feel fully comfortable with direct arrangements, to complete their booking through Airbnb. It provides reassurance, protects their payment, and creates a sense of security for both sides.
This is particularly helpful for international guests or those who are outside the country, as Airbnb makes the payment process much easier and more familiar for them.
For me, Instagram works primarily as a discovery and engagement channel, while Airbnb remains the trusted platform for formalizing reservations.

Mohammed
