Does airbnb contact HMRC & local councils when hosting?

Hi, 

I'm interested in becoming a host with my apartment in London (under 90 days - as I will need to vacate the property for the stays). 

Do you know if airbnb contacts the HMRC and or local councils regarding host bookings? Or if its automatically recorded?

@Rachel1934 Airbnb reports host earnings to HMRC. No idea about London councils
