Cannot believe that the "algorithm" hasn't just gone crazy, because I've tried everything else. Dramatic drop in inquiries since March and calls to Airbnb assured me "everything was fine," but then discovered my listing was not even showing up on their search map. Long story short- they fixed that problem but still no inquiries, only 1 booking in July. Fortunately that "other" booking agent that begins with a V is keeping my place occupied, but something is very wrong at Air bnb. Their big suggestion "update your photos." Yeah, right. I've had pro photos on this listing for sometime and the place looks great in pictures. Considering cancelling this listing, then restarting it with a new name, etc., to see if there is not some weird algorithm thing dinging my listing for some reason. Any other suggestions from others who have experienced this??
You mention "my listing", but i noticed you own three iistings.
The "escape the heat" listing will not show up in the search, as it has no available dates to book.
The other two are in the search system:
Sorry...I'm having this problem specifically with my Idyllwild Listing (Trails out your back door). I realize the issue with the listing not showing up on the map has been repaired, but seriously--NO inquiries since April and 1 booking in July? My earnings for this property last year were 6 times what they are this year. I reiterate--something is very wrong here and I have no idea what. Previously Airbnb inquiries and those from that "other" provider were always comparable in number.
I was hoping this was noticed by other hosts. There was a problem with popular dates and it blocking those dates. I too had a huge drop in interest during peak this year. It got better in September but we lost so much revenue. I called multiple times with the ‘everything is fine result’. What really bugs me now is I saw an article saying people just aren’t wanting to book Airbnb anymore and thats why bookings dropped. No. No. No. not true. It was the search algorithm. It broke in April and will probably have the same issue next year. This is not a guest problem!!!!!
