Hello Airbnb team,
I would like to suggest a new feature that allows hosts to list parking spaces for rent — either connected to a property or as a standalone listing.
At the moment, Airbnb only supports listings that include accommodation, which makes it impossible to offer just a parking spot (for example, a private driveway, garage, or parking space next to a home).
There is increasing demand for short-term and daily parking, especially in urban areas or near popular destinations where parking is scarce. Many hosts have unused private parking spots that could be safely and conveniently rented out through Airbnb if a suitable category were available.
Could you consider adding a “Parking Space” or “Vehicle Storage” category, with options for hourly or daily rental?
This would expand Airbnb’s marketplace in a natural way — connecting local hosts with travelers who simply need secure parking rather than accommodation.
Thank you for considering this idea.
Kind regards,
Jannes
Hi @Jannes12 😊,
Thank you for sharing this suggestion here.
How did you get the idea? Are you hosting as well?
I recommend sharing this directly with our team using this link 👉 Share your feedback about Airbnb.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

This has massive income potential for hosts as well as Airbnb. Of course there would be some sort of verification similar to hosting, to prove ownership of said parking space.
In my country there are parking apps you can use if you want to find residents whose parking spaces you can use . Do you not have something similar where you live @Jannes12
I'm not aware of any app in the Netherlands.
Do you have a website or link to discover ?
You could google car parking app for your location and see what comes up . I am sure you will have something similar @Jannes12
Not liking in same country as units, but will look into
Have you considered doing a pamphlet drop in your area to see if anyone would like to rent your carpark?
That may be an option for you and others who may have a spare parking space , however it would be prudent to include any agreement to slot in with any hosting and your own personal use.
Check with local authorities you can legally do so as you may need to get a license under Transport regulations.
Interestingly we have just been reading about how security guard companies were not authorized to issue fines for parking, contracted to Councils to undertake parking enforcement in Niuew Zealand in recent years as they are not Council employees!
Where does the arrow fall if someone is acting in breach of immigration or other laws???
Interesting times ahead in regards to use of automated and software systems.
